Hinduism Dictionary on Spiritual unfoldment
spiritual unfoldment: Adhyatma vikasa. The unfoldment of the spirit, the inherent, divine soul of man. The very gradual expansion of consciousness as kundalini shakti slowly rises through the sushumna. The term spiritual unfoldment indicates this slow, imperceptible process, likened to a lotus flower's emerging from bud to effulgent beauty. Contrasted with development, which implies intellectual study; or growth, which implies character building and sadhana. Sound intellect and good character are the foundation for spiritual unfoldment, but they are not the unfoldment itself. When philosophical training and sadhana is complete, the kundalini rises safely and imperceptively, without jerks, twitches, tears or hot flashes. Brings greater willpower, compassion and perceptive qualities. See: adhyatma vikasa, kundalini, kundalini, awakening, liberation, pada, sadhana, sadhana marga, San Marga, tapas.

Spiritual - Theosophy
Dictionary on
Self
Self Theosophical literature distinguishes between self and ego: self is a purely spiritual unit, divine in essence, the same in every being, expressed as "I am"; egos are many, different in different beings, and expressed as "I am I." Egos are indirect or reflected consciousnesses, seeing themselves as apart from other egos, each having its own individualized characteristics. But the self or atman is the purest and strongest intuition of being as a universal principle and as the summit of the hierarchy called man. It is pure consciousness, the essential principle which gives to every person knowledge of selfhood. As it has no egoic consciousness, it seems to our reason to be unconsciousness. To become self-conscious, a vehicle is needed, so that the self may see itself reflected as in a mirror. In humans what is called the personal self is a compound, in which the true selfhood or atmic ray shines dimly through many screens. This causes our various mental states to be regarded as pertaining to our own individuality, though they are actually influences which flow into and out of the mind, and to which we attribute a false sense of ownership, as when we say, "I am angry," instead of "I am experiencing anger." The path of liberation frees us progressively from these false selves; we abandon the heresy of separateness, and at last See the true self within us as being identical with that self in all beings.

| | | | Liberation: Dream Dictionary - Colors
Colors You can expect increasing security and success in all your affairs if you dreamed of a mixture of bright colors. Individually, or if one color stood out in your dream, the significance is as follows: Blue indicates liberation from worry and/or help from outside sources; Black is an unfavorable omen unless it featured in a funeral or other appropriate situation, in which case it forecasts difficulties to be overcome; Brown means money luck; bright Red is a warning to curb your temper; deep Red forecasts unexpected good news; Green pertains to travel or news from a distance; Gray indicates a period of marking time; Lavender or Mauve foretells minor disappointment or transitory unhappiness; Orange suggests that an expected change in your situation will be delayed; Pink predicts unusually great success; Purple is a forerunner to happy social affairs; Yellow forecasts setbacks and struggles before improvement can be achieved; White is a certain promise of success in all that concerns you. Dreams involving people of a color other than your own are generally lucky omens pertaining to money and/or business, unless the people were some exotic shade like green or blue, in which case the dream probably had a digestive origin and no significance

Hinduism Dictionary on Hindu
Hindu: (Sanskrit) A follower of, or relating to, Hinduism. Generally, one is understood to be a Hindu by being born into a Hindu family and practicing the faith, or by declaring oneself a Hindu. Acceptance into the fold is recognized through the name-giving sacrament, a temple ceremony called namakarana samskara, given to born Hindus shortly after birth, and to self-declared Hindus who have proven their sincerity and been accepted by a Hindu community. Full conversion is completed through disavowal of previous religious affiliations and legal change of name. While traditions vary greatly, all Hindus rely on the Vedas as scriptural authority and generally attest to the following nine principles: 1) There exists a one, all-pervasive Supreme Being who is both immanent and transcendent, both creator and unmanifest Reality. 2) The universe undergoes endless cycles of creation, preservation and dissolution. 3) All souls are evolving toward God and will ultimately find moksha: spiritual knowledge and liberation from the cycle of rebirth. Not a single soul will be eternally deprived of this destiny. 4) Karma is the law of cause and effect by which each individual creates his own destiny by his thoughts, words and deeds. 5) The soul reincarnates, evolving through many births until all karmas have been resolved. 6) Divine beings exist in unseen worlds, and temple worship, rituals, sacraments, as well as personal devotionals, create a communion with these devas and Gods. 7) A spiritually awakened master or satguru is essential to know the transcendent Absolute, as are personal discipline, good conduct, purification, self-inquiry and meditation. 8) All life is sacred, to be loved and revered, and therefore one should practice ahimsa, nonviolence. 9) No particular religion teaches the only way to salvation above all others. Rather, all genuine religious paths are facets of God's pure love and light, deserving tolerance and understanding. See: Hinduism.

Among the wealthy, compassionate men claim the richest wealth, For material wealth is possessed by even contemptible men. Find and follow the good path and be ruled by compassion. For if the various ways are examined, compassion will prove the means to liberation. - Tirukkural 25: 241-242

| | | | Liberation: The Gradational Ascent Of The MindThe Chakras are centres of Shakti as vital
force-in other words, these are centres of Pranashakti manifested by Pranavayu
in the living body, the presiding Devatas of which are the names for the
Universal Consciousness as it manifests in the form of these centres. The
Chakras are not perceptible in the gross senses. Even if they were perceptible
in the living body which they help to organise they disappear with the
disintegration of organism at death.

Swami Sivananda

| | | | Liberation: Encyclopedia II - The Divine Comedy band - HistoryNeil Hannon has been the only ever-present member of the band, being its founder in 1989 when he was joined by John McCullagh and Kevin Traynor. Their first album, the heavily REM-influenced and now-deleted Fanfare for the Comic Muse, enjoyed little success, though, and soon McCullagh and Traynor were to go their separate ways.
Hannon, however, was not deterred in his efforts and re-appeared in 1993 with Liberation. Featuring a fairly diverse musical outlook that goes from the tongue-in-cheek synth pop of 'Europop' to th ...

| | | | Liberation: Encyclopedia II - Stray Cats - Formation and rapid U.K. successThe Stray Cats was formed in the Long Island town of Massapequa, New York. Their retro 1950s sound didn't go over well, so in the summer of 1980, the group headed to England, where a rockabilly revival movement was beginning to emerge.
After a gig in London, the Stray Cats met producer Dave Edmunds, well known as a roots rock enthusiast for his work with Rockpile and as a solo artist.
