Kratos Aurion - Ancient Hero.
Kratos's story actually begins approximately 4000 years before the events in Tales of Symphonia take place. Kratos, the only human companion of the hero Mithos Yggdrasill, travelled the world and helped to put an end to the Kharlan War, actually a war between the lands of Sylvarant and Tethe'alla.

In order for this to be achieved in the PS2 version, the player must have a high relationship with Kratos. During the scene in Flanoir where a series of characters come to Lloyd's door, refuse all characters who arrive. In the PS2 version, Lloyd should hear a voice call his name if Kratos's relationship is high enough. In the Gamecube version, this happens regardless of Kratos's relationship.
