Kirlian Photography

A photographic process using a high voltage, low amperage field of 50,000 volts or more. Invented by Semyon and Valentina Kirlian.

It picks up radiation around objects and humans which is not visible to the eye. Often used to photograph the energy field (Aura) that surrounds the human body.

The accepted explanation amongst scientists is that the images produced are those typically caused by a high voltage corona effect, similar to those seen from other high voltage sources such as the Van de Graaff generator or Tesla coil. aura analysis (aura reading, auric diagnosis): direct or indirect examination of the vital energy that envelops each human. Nonpsychics can analyze the aura through Kirlian photography or a Kilner screen.

Dr. Walter J. Kilner (1847-1920) of St. Thomas's Hospital, in London, invented this screen: two plates of glass, an eighth of an inch apart, containing an alcoholic solution of a dye (usually carmine or a coal-tar dye).

Auric colors reveal the personal traits of the subject, such as impressionableness and spiritual arrogance. Proponents also associate auric colors with glands, organs, organ systems, and psychological states such as anger and boredom.

Kirlian Photography:

A lenseless electrical photographic technique invented by Russian parapsychologists S. D. and V. Kirlian in 1939 and which can be used to record energy fields around living or once living objects and beings. Although the “Kirlian auras” vary with emotional excitement and intent, there is as yet no proof that they are the same as the “psychic auras” traditionally seen by clairvoyants. Time will tell.
