The idea of God's Kingdom is found predominantly in the New Testament, specifically the Synoptic Gospels. The kingdom is a spiritual kingdom that people willingly enter through belief, spiritual rebirth, and carrying out the will of God. It is a kingdom peopled by the righteous, among whom the humble will be the greatest, and stands in stark contrast to the only other kingdom available to people: the kingdom of Satan. The Kingdom of God is a term used interchangeably with Kingdom of Heaven in the Synoptic Gospels. Matthew usually uses ...

Kingdom of Heaven: Encyclopedia II - Kingdom of Heaven - The Kingdom in Christian thought

The idea of God's Kingdom is found predominately in the New Testament, specifically the Synoptic Gospels. The Kingdom of God is a term used interchangeably with Kingdom of Heaven in the Synoptic Gospels. Matthew usually uses the term "Kingdom of Heaven", while Luke and John Mark use "Kingdom of God". The standard explanation for this is that Matthew's Gospel was addressed to a Jewish audience who would avoid the direct use of the name of God. Mark and Luke addressed their gospels to a more gener ...

Kingdom of Heaven: Make Friends With Your Self

When Jesus said: - The kingdom of God is within - what He meant was that heaven itself would be a disappointment to restless, worldly people.

If a person has no true joy in his heart, he will not find true joy outside though he be in heaven itself, and in the company of angels. Heaven must be experienced right here, right now, within ourselves if we are to experience it ever.

Is there any religious implication or affiliation with meditation?

Kingdom of Heaven: The Life of Gautama Buddha

Buddha was born approximately 560 B.C. in Northern India. Through his life, Buddha gave the concept of Nirvana unprecedented exposure to a large portion of the Eastern world with his achievement of and subsequent teachings about the state of enlightenment. The attainment of Buddhahood or Nirvana is a central tenet of Buddhist teachings. Within the realm of Christianity, the historical Christ echoed the same teaching, though in a veiled form, by saying that the Kingdom of Heaven is within us.

Kingdom of Heaven: Cessation of Thought Leads to True Self

The sense of "I" pertains to the person. When a man knows his true self for the first time, something else arises from the depths of his being and takes possession of him.

That something is beyond mind and body; it is infinite, divine, eternal. Some people call it the kingdom of heaven, others call it the soul and still others nirvana . Hindus call it moksha or liberation.

You may give it what name you like but when it happens, a man has truly found himself. The recognition of pure being - the absolute - is the supreme and ultimate truth.

Kingdom of Heaven: An Option, Not a Mandate

Jesus said: "Unless ye become as little children, ye shall not enter the Kingdom of Heaven." I am inclined to agree with him on that. But even that is beside my point here. The "Imagine Nation" is a society built on Oneness, and an appreciation for our infinite collective diversity. It doesn't place kids at the center of things. Rather, it is designed to even the playing field so that natural giftedness can move forward at whatever age it appears. Some of the principles discussed will have great meaning in regards to our senior citizens, as well.

Even within the template we are designing here, there will be those who will feel most comfortable and secure when they are following leaders or mentors in their daily schedule. They may choose even to live at home with parents well into age 40, and be completely happy with it. The key factor we are emphasizing here is the word "choose". Do Star Children get to choose whether they are dependent or not? Or is that choice made for them already?

Kingdom of Heaven: Encyclopedia - All under heaven

All under heaven (Chinese: 天下; pinyin: tiān xià) is a concept in Chinese history. It was related to the Chinese conception of China as the Middle Kingdom, the center of the universe. In ancient Chinese political thought, the Chinese emperor would ideally rule all under heaven, that is, the entire world, which was possible because China was considered to be so vast that it encompassed all the world.
