KAOS: Encyclopedia II - Dixie Kong - Origins: 1995 - 1997

As the girlfriend of Diddy Kong, she was just as enthusiastic of an adventurer as her boyfriend was. In Donkey Kong Country 2, Dixie and Diddy Kong had to journey to Crocodile Isle to rescue Donkey Kong from the clutches of Kaptain K. Rool. While this was seen more as Diddy's hero quest than a validation of Dixie's worthiness, the female Kong proved herself to be just as capable as her more established partner. At the conclusion of the game, K. Rool was inadvertenly blasted into the sacred Kremling energy source, clogging the flow unt ...

KAOS: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!: Encyclopedia II - Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! - Characters

Supporting Kong characters returning from the previous games included Cranky Kong, The original Arcade Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong's grandfather, he only appears in the game in Swanky Kong's sideshow attraction. Cranky Kong competes in mini-games to win coins and bananas. Unlike in the previous two Donkey Kong Country games, he doesn't give advice to the Kongs. In this version he still insults the Kongs on their skill and flaws like the previous games regardless of winning or losing the mini-game (although he will accuse you of cheating if you win from time to time). ...

KAOS: Encyclopedia II - Diddy Kong - Origins: 1994-1997

Created by Rareware, he first appeared in 1994's Super Nintendo platform video game Donkey Kong Country as Donkey Kong's sidekick. Diddy looked up to Donkey Kong and wanted to be a video game hero just like him. To humor him, DK put him in charge of guarding his banana hoard at night. However, DK didn't expect a siege by King K. Rool's Kremling Krew. The banana hoard was stolen, and he and Diddy went on an adventure across DK Island to get it back. Diddy's second appearance was on the Game Boy title Donkey Kong Land. In this ga ...

KAOS: Encyclopedia II - Dixie Kong - The GameCube Years: 2004 - Present

Dixie finally returned in the 2004 Game Boy Advance port of Donkey Kong Country 2, which was still developed by Rare, which still maintained a working relationship with Nintendo to do the remodeled Game Boy Advance versions of the DKC games. The game retold the story of Dixie's first adventure, but it featured several new elements — such as the return of Tiny Kong, who made a surprise cameo in a Funky Kong mini-game. She was brought back in a full-fledged new game in 2005's Donkey Konga 2 for the Nintendo GameCu ...

KAOS: Encyclopedia II - Get Smart - Gadgets

Smart would communicate with CONTROL using a rotary telephone concealed in his shoe. While it is decades ahead of its time in real life, the need to take off his shoe to use it and the loud bell among other design flaws lead to various humorously awkward situations. The term "shoe phone" has returned to currency as a slang expression for a handheld cellular telephone. Smart would always insist on following the rules and, when in the Chief's office, would insist on speaking under the Cone of Silence. One of the show's recurring gags, t ...

KAOS: Encyclopedia II - Get Smart - Stars

The series starred Don Adams as bumbling secret agent Maxwell Smart, Agent 86. Barbara Feldon's character (Agent 99) had no name; even after Smart married her, he (and everyone else) would always address her as "99". (In one episode she said that her name was "Susan Hilton" but she later claimed that it was an alias [1].) Smart and 99 worked for CONTROL, a secret U.S. Government spy agency. Together, the pair investigated and opposed various threats to the world while Smart's bumbling caused complications. However, at each story's cli ...

KAOS: Encyclopedia II - Dixie Kong - Limbo: 1997 - 2004

After Donkey Kong Land III, the Dixie character would go on a seven-year hiatus. Most fans thought she would return in 1999's Donkey Kong 64, but Rare decided early on in development that only characters that appeared in the original Donkey Kong Country would appear. (This rule would be broken later in the game's progress, as Wrinkly Kong was also included.) Instead, Rare created Tiny Kong, the little sister of Dixie. Many fans were outraged at this decision, and Dixie's exclusion would serve as one of the biggest critic ...

KAOS: Encyclopedia II - Get Smart - Spies at work

CONTROL and KAOS didn't seem to be above everyday bureaucracy. KAOS is a Delaware corporation for tax purposes. The Guild of Surviving Control Agents is the union at CONTROL, and Max is their negotiator; he learns from a dying KAOS agent about all the benefits that KAOS agents have for their families as beneficiaries with the Chief in their presence and Max uses that information for his labor talks there and then. Get Smart - ...

KAOS: Encyclopedia II - Diddy Kong - The Nintendo 64 years: 1997-2000

Two months later, Diddy made his Nintendo 64 debut, and got his first starring role without any other Kong characters appearing. Diddy Kong Racing took the kart racing genre in a new direction with go-karts, planes, and hovercraft as available vehicles. Even more remarkable, instead of a straight-forward racing game like the Mario Kart series, Diddy Kong Racing was a "racing adventure," a mixture between Mario Kart and Super Mario 64. Diddy Kong Racing was the first self-published title by Rare, and ...

KAOS: Encyclopedia II - Diddy Kong - The GameCube years: 2003 - present

Diddy returned in 2003 with a Game Boy Advance port of Donkey Kong Country, which was a retelling of his original adventure with Donkey Kong. It featured new map screens and new modes of play like DK Attack and Hero Mode, where you have to beat the game with Diddy and only Diddy (sporting swank yellow clothes). Diddy's debut in a Mario and GameCube game was in Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour. This was also the first time he appeared in a non-Rareware game (the company was sold to Microsoft in 2002). His appearance in this and ...
