Tito's first wife was Pelagija Broz (maiden: Belousova), a Russian who bore him a son, Žarko. They got married in Omsk before moving to Yugoslavia. She was transported to Moscow by communists when Tito got thrown in jail in 1928. His next notable relationship was with Hertha Haas, a Slovene of German ethnicity, whom he met in Paris in 1937.
