He was a Jedi apprentice under Kyp Durron before the war against the Yuuzhan Vong. When Kyp's Dozen and Two Avengers were the first to encounter the Vong at Helska 4, almost all of the squadron were killed; Kyp escaped, jumping to hyperspace, and Miko was captured and taken to the base on-planet.
