Integration: Encyclopedia II - Elliptic integral - Incomplete elliptic integral of the first kind

The incomplete elliptic integral of the first kind F is defined, in Jacobi's form, as Equivalently, using alternate notation, where it is understood that when there is a vertical bar used, the argument following the vertical bar is the parameter (as defined above), and, when a backslash is used, it is followed by the modular angle. Note that F(x;k) = u with u as defined ...

Integration: Encyclopedia II - Technology Integration - Virtual Field Trip

A Virtual Field Trip is a website that enhances the curriculum by allowing the students to experience places, idea, or objects beyond the constraints of the classroom. Unlike traditional field trips, students have the opportunity to visit and explore worlds outside their own communities. Because the trip is virtual, there are no limits to the destinations and no restrictions on time. Other advantages include: no cost, no liabilities, and no permission slips or sack lunches. Teachers can bring new worlds to their students either by vis ...

Integration: Encyclopedia II - Technology Integration - Information Literacy

Information literacy is a very important but also a very difficult concept for students to grasp. Anyone can post anything on the web. They can appear to be an expert, even if they know nothing at all. Students think that if it is on the web it must be true. Teaching them to evaluate the information they find is an important part of education today. A good starting point is asking familiar questions, such as: Who is the source? What am I getting? When was it created? Where am I (on the web)? Why a ...

Integration: Encyclopedia II - Technology Integration - Purchasing Technology for Schools

A school can't simply buy and install technology and think that it is going to make huge changes. As the article, Beyond Technology*[44]) mentions, there are a number of things that have to occur in addition to the buying and installing of technology. Of all the reasons the author listed, teacher training and motivation is one of the biggest problems. There are still a large amount of teachers who prefer to teach in a traditional method and are unwilling and uncomfortable moving to more of a constructivist methodology. The authors strategy's ...

Integration: Encyclopedia II - Vertical integration - Examples

Vertical integration - Music industry. Some in the music recording industry believe vertical integration is the best way to survive in the modern, post-Napster environment. The idea would be to vertically integrate the record label with the radio station of its genre in local markets. This would allow the label to more cheaply produce music (because many of the elements which make the production expensive are due to unnecessarily high standards of production required by the radio stations, and the system of payol ...

Integration: Encyclopedia II - Political integration of India - Integrating the Union

Many of the 565 states that had joined the Union were very small and lacked resources to sustain their economies and support their growing populations. Many published their own currency, imposed restrictions and their own tax rules that impeded free trade. Although Prajamandals (People's Conventions) had been organized to increase democracy, a contentious debate opened over dissolving the very states India promised to officially recognize just months ago. Challenged by princes, Sardar Patel and V. P. Menon emphasized that witho ...

Integration: Encyclopedia II - Sensory Integration Dysfunction - Sensory integration and autism spectrum disorders

Sensory integration dysfunction is a common symptom of autism [4]. Often, autistic children receive too much sensory stimulation through one or more of their senses, and in order to turn down the volume, they tend to avoid people, noises and bright lights. Autistic children do not develop the neurotypical capacity to integrate and modulate information from the five senses. In her book, Thinking in Pictures, Temple Grandin reports the results of a survey about sensory integration in a relatively small population with autism spec ...

Integration: Encyclopedia II - Path integral - Vector calculus

In qualitative terms, a path integral in vector calculus can be thought of as a measure of the effect of a given vector field along a given curve. Path integral - Definition. For some scalar field f : Rn → R, the path (or line) integral on a curve C, parametrized as r(t) with t ∈ [a, b], is defined by Similarly, for a vector field F : Rn → RnSee also:

Integration: Encyclopedia II - Elliptic integral - Notation

Elliptic integrals are often expressed as functions of a variety of different arguments. These different arguments are completely equivalent (they give the same elliptic integral), but can be confusing due to their different appearance. Most texts adhere to a canonical naming scheme. Before defining the integrals, we review the naming conventions for the arguments: k the elliptic modulus m=k2 the parameter α the modular angle, See also:

Integration: Encyclopedia II - Integration by parts - Recursive formulation

Integration by parts can often be applied recursively on the term to provide the following formula Here, u' is the first derivative of u and u'' is the second derivative of u. Further, u(n) is a notation to describe its nth derivative (with respect to the variable u and v are functions of). Anothe ...

Integration: Encyclopedia II - Integrated circuit - History origins and generations

Integrated circuit - The birth of the IC. The integrated circuit was first conceived by a radar scientist, Geoffrey W.A. Dummer (born 1909), working for the Royal Radar Establishment of the British Ministry of Defence, and published in Washington, D.C. on May 7, 1952. Dummer unsuccessfully attempted to build such a circuit in 1956. The first integrated circuits were manufactured independently by two scientists: Jack Kilby of Texas Instruments filed a patent for a "Solid Circuit" made of germanium on Februa ...

Integration: Massage Bodywork Dictionary on POSTURAL INTEGRATION & ENERGETIC INTEGRATION

POSTURAL INTEGRATION & ENERGETIC INTEGRATION

Postural integration and energetic integration were developed by Jack Painter in the late 1960s and have spread to Western Europe, Canada, Mexico, and Australia. These approaches focus on the unity of tissue, feeling and awareness.

Breathwork, deep fascia manipulation, emotional expression, and meditation are used in a unique synchronicity. Both are similar methods, but postural integration focuses on systematic work with layers of fascia, while energetic integration focuses on melting bands of body character armor.

The client will experience not only extraordinary energy releases and tangible changes in body shape and flexibility, but also major shifts in awareness and feeling. The training to become a practitioner is approximately 600 hours of practical and theoretical study over several phases in centers throughout the world.
