Core Transformation (Core Transformation experience, Core Transformation Process, Identity Process): Ten-step self-help method pioneered by Connirae Andreas, Ph.D., the primary author of Core Transformation: Reaching the Wellspring Within. Core Transformation is a way to melt one's limitations and to open the door to a sense of wholeness and of the universal. Its theory posits an inner being, inner self, inner essence, or core self. Proponents have billed the technique as a breakthrough in the fields of NLP, psychology, and religion or spirituality.

Atma-jnanin (Sanskrit) (from atman self + jnanin knower from the verbal root jna to know)

The knower of atman or the universal self; likewise one who knows the world-soul. In a more mystical sense directly applicable to the individual, atma-jnanin signifies one who knows his own inner divinity and recognizes his spiritual solidarity with the cosmic self, the paramatman of our solar system. Those who thus recognize their oneness with the cosmic divinity are mahatmas of the highest class.

Raja Yoga (Sanskrit) Royal union; more generally, the balance of all the faculties -- physical, mental, moral, and spiritual. Raja yoga is a true system of developing psychic, intellectual, and spiritual powers and union with one's higher self, the inner divine source of all our being.

This royal union with the self within must be attained by self-directed evolution. Union with this inner divinity is the source of all human genius and inspiration. Man increases his receptivity to the divine powers in his inmost being by cooperating with nature on its spiritual even more than its physical and astral planes, and by intellectual and spiritual aspiration combined with a fervent love for all beings.

self expansion therapy: Style of psychotherapy practiced by Ralph Gray, C.S.W., of New York City.

According to its theory, one can attain growth and transformation by listening carefully to one's true inner self, re-connecting one's thoughts and feelings, recovering one's authenticity, and releasing physical and emotional blockages.

VIDYA

(Sk. "Knowledge"; also jnana.) Equivalent of Illumination, Gnosis (inner wisdom). There are several varieties:

Atma Vidya -- Self-knowledge.

Gupta Vidya -- Secret  wisdom.

Aryajñana -- Exalted understanding.

Rahasya --  Mystery-Gnosis.

Brahma Vidya -- Supreme illumination.

PELICAN

Alchemical symbol for the stage known as mortificatio, the breaking open of the outer shell to reveal the inner man. As the mother pelican was believed to feed her young from blood pecked from her own breast, she is also sometimes used as a general symbol of self- sacrifice.

Unergi Method (Unergi holistic therapy): Self-care system that integrates the Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais Awareness Movement, Gestalt therapy, and Rubenfeld Synergy. It includes dreamwork, healing touch, inner child work, meditation, and verbal therapy. Holistic Therapist Ute Arnold developed the method in or before 1978.
