Infinity - Infinity in real analysis.
In real analysis, the symbol , called "infinity", denotes an unbounded limit. means that x grows beyond any assigned value, and means x is eventually less than any assigned value. Points labeled and can be added to the real numbers as a topological space, producing the two-point compactification of the real numbers. Adding algebraic properties to this gives us the extended real numbers. We can also treat and as the same, leading to the one-point compact ...

 | | | Infinity: Encyclopedia II - Infinity - Infinity in science fictionThe Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy contains the following definition of infinity:
"Bigger than the biggest thing ever and then some, much bigger than that, in fact really amazingly immense, a totally stunning size, real 'Wow, that's big!' time. Infinity is just so big that by comparison, bigness itself looks really titchy. Gigantic multiplied by colossal multiplied by staggeringly huge is the s ...

 | | | Infinity: The Infinite Nature
Of Our UniverseInfinity: The Infinite Nature Of Our Universe Infinite translated in Sanskrit is anant which means 'without end'. Mathematically speaking, infinity is an indeterminate quantity and has two values - one positive and the other, negative. In Sanskrit these values are described as anaadi and anant , that is, without beginning and without end. Any discussion on this topic can only reveal human ignorance and so humble and inspire us to becoming better human beings. Read more here: » Infinity: The Infinite Nature

 | | | Infinity: Zero To Infinity In Indian Mysticism Ananta is Sanskrit for infinity. It is equated with the Supreme Brahman - infinitely powerful and so infinitely free. It is bigger than any quantity that can be imagined; it is bigger than any finite number. Infinity is one of the fundamental axioms upon which contemporary mathematics is based. Sanskrit grammar and interpretation in ancient India were closely linked to the handling of high value numbers. Studies relating to poetry and metrics initiated sastragnaas or scientists to both arithmetic and grammar. Grammarians were just as competent at calculations as professional mathematicians. Indian sastragnaas or scientists, philosophers, astronomers and cosmographers - in order to develop their arithmetical, metaphysical and cosmological speculations concerning ever higher numbers - became at once mathematicians, grammarians and poets. Infinity - Ancient view of infinity.
The earliest known documented knowledge of infinity is presented in the Hindu Yajur Veda (ca. 1800 BC - 800 BC) which states that "if you remove a part from infinity or add a part to infinity, still what remains is infinity". The Indian Jaina mathematical text Surya Prajinapti (ca. 400 BC) classifies all numbers into three sets: enumerable, innumerable and infinite. It recognises five different types of infinity: infinite in one and tw ...

 | | | Infinity: Drawing The Line - LoC To Infinity There'sa crooked line drawn on land: One side of it is called India, the other side, Pakistan. People living on either side of this human made line could well kill one another - in fact, precious lives have been sacrificed to ensure that the line stays where it is. You cannot have only peace, only love or only light, how much ever you wish it were so. Yin and Yang, Shiv and the Shakti, Krishna and Radha, are in perfect equilibrium in the cosmos. Their play is this universe, without and within. This unceasing play of opposites generates infinite hues. Murder and mayhem exist; so do loving and caring. | | | Infinity: Encyclopedia II - Infiniti - HistoryInfiniti was introduced in the United States by Nissan in 1989, to rival Toyota and Honda's introduction of their own luxury brands, Lexus and Acura, respectively. A series of Zen-inspired advertisements, which became known as the "rocks and trees" campaign, aimed to bring about brand awareness. The advertisements, however, neglected to feature any of Infiniti's models, and thus failed to generate adequate sales. Better advertising and the introduction of award-winning models eventually made Infiniti a chief contender in the luxury vehicle segment of the American market. Since ...
