When interacting with and caring for your Indigo/Crystal child you need to remember that your child is very different to you. What worked for you as a child will not work for them.

The main areas where you will need to adjust are the following:

• The Indigo/Crystal child is a Right Brain oriented being.
• The Indigo/Crystal is Super Sensitive to environmental stress.
• The Indigo/Crystal child is sensitive to food and will often develop Food Allergies.

How do you know if you, or someone you know, is an Indigo or Crystal Child or Adult?

We will describe the main features and characteristics of these people. But we want to stress that the Indigo/Crystal phenomenon is the next step in our evolution as a human species. We are all, in some way, becoming more like the Indigo and Crystal people. Parenting an Indigo or Crystal child is a special privilege in this time of turbulence and change. As a parent, you are contributing to etsablishing new patterns for parenting on the planet. You are partnering with your child in raising the resonance of the child/parent relationship to its highest possible level at this time.

The Indigo or Crystal child has come to the planet with its own "mission". As an Indigo it is here to challenge exisiting forms and beliefs, and as a Crystal it is here to teach empowerment and love. You, as the parents, are the partners in this mission of teaching and healing. You can help your child to fulfill its mission by understanding what is required of you. As a parent to an Indigo, you can expect to be challenged at every turn, but having the skills to handle these challenges will create and easier relationship between you and your Indigo. As the parent of a Crystal, you will have to deal with a very strong will and frequent power struggles. Again, having the parenting skills to cope with these issues will facilitate the growth and unfolding of your child.

Since Steve Rother and the Group first identified the Children of the Crystal Vibration in 1997, the information about these children has exploded. While some of the information is contradictory in nature, we feel that all of it is relevant and of interest to different individuals. The following article is an example of a very unique view of the new children, one that will cause many of you to pause.

In the final analysis, the most important thing to remember about the new children, whether they be labeled Indigos, Crystals, Octarines, Psychic Kids or Star Children, is that they are all our children, yours and mine. Clearly child prodigies have existed for a long time. This is not a new phenomenon. Yet the Indigo Child proponents say this is something new that's happening, brought about as I said because of the period of growth and change.

In some cases the Indigo children are said to have great spiritual talents and are talking with one another through a wide-spread telepathic communication channel between these Indigo children.

Lee Carroll and Jan Tober are the authors of the Indigo Children books and are wonderful people and personal friends. Lee and I have discussed this point. He and Jan say that the Crystal Children are a sub-set of the Indigo children, whereas the Group says they are markedly different. The word Indigo comes from Nancy Tappe who sees energy fields in a very unusual way. They use this word to talk about all the new children entering the Earth including Star children, Psychic children and more.

Indigo and Crystal children not only behave and think differently to their predecessors, they are spiritually different. Their subtle bodies are more developed, and they are "wired" differently. Because they represent the next step in human evolution, they carry within their auras the seed of an important new energy that is birthing on our planet.

It is well known by science that every human has much brain and DNA capacity that is not used, or for which they can find no use. This "extra" DNA is even referred to as "junk" DNA. However, it is not "junk" or "spare" capacity, it is innate human potential waiting to be activated.

What is an Indigo child? The term "Indigo Child" was coined by psychic and synesthesiac Nancy Ann Tappe, who classified people's personalities according to the color of their auras. Usually each universal age is accompanied by a life color, and during each such age there is a prevalence of people born during that time with that corresponding life color.

We hear about the new children and how they are changing our world. The Indigo children are here making a difference now, but what's next? For the past seven years Steve Rother has been receiving divinely inspired information from a collective of angels simply known as "the Group." He and his partner Barbara have presented this information to delegations at the United Nations on two continents on five separate occasions. In 1997 the Group spoke of the Crystal children as possibilities in human evolution. In spite of what we see on the news, the Group says that we are moving forward rapidly. There has been a lot of press lately about the sudden upsurge in profoundly autistic children- especially in California, but also in many other places. Some attribute this to the toxins in the water of California from the many fabrication plants in the Bay Area. Others say that when mildly autistic geeky sorts mate, their children are more likely to amplify their traits. Many programmers have Aspergers, a mild form of autism, which makes them excellent programmers, but also carries the risk of their offspring having full-blown autism. And others say the problem stems from the effects of some vaccines on children.

There has been a lot of buzz lately in the mainstream Indigo circles about the "Crystal" children, a new 'ray' of manifestation engendered by the Indigo/Cobalt people. According to the popular literature, Crystals are extremely sensitive to the point of near-autism, and are extremely impressionable in many ways. In the past few years we have heard much about Indigo Children, Star Children, Psychic Children, and more recently, the Crystal Children. Whether people accept these categories or not, most will agree that the current generation of children is very different to their predecessors.

These children seem somehow smarter, brighter and wiser. They are attracted to and easily master difficult and complex technologies. They are passionate, focussed and honest about their feelings. Relationships are important to them.

When I was young I read books and saw television shows based upon the lives of famous people. Even as a young child, I saw the paradoxes. One person makes a global success out of meager beginnings while another squanders a fortune in reputation as well as money. I wondered why. Is it fate or luck that determines success? Is it predestination or windfall that determines a well-lived life?

Author and clairvoyant Nancy Ann Tappe saw a new spirit color (or frequency) she had never seen before. She described it as "Indigo" and coined the term in her 1982 book Understanding Your Life Through Color. Not all children being born now have this frequency, but Nancy estimates that 90% of children under the age of 10 are Indigo children. Also, in my experience, not all the wonderfully aware children have indigo auras. Many that I have seen have yellow auras. However, the information coming out about Indigo children is useful to help us change paradigms about how we raise and interact with all children, most of whom are more aware at a younger age than any generation before.

I have been asked by Archangel Michael to write this article in order to help the many people who undergo the experience of a rapid shift into multi-dimensional awareness, or, the shift from the Indigo state to the Crystal state of consciousness.

There are people who make the transition in a relatively gentle way, but there are many who experience a crisis when this happens. These are usually the people who have chosen to open up to the higher dimensions. This choice is not made logically by the rational mind, but is rather a soul choice made in response to the available transitional energies of the Earth herself. So, sometimes a person is thrust into psychological, emotional and bodily changes for which they can find no logical explanation. This can cause a crisis. My experience has been that orthodox doctors and psychologists are of very little help as they have no idea of what the person is experiencing. When tests come back negative, the person is often considered to be hysterical or ungrounded or even schizophrenic.

Indigo children are supposedly a set of children having certain special psychological and spiritual attributes. The indigo child concept was first popularized by the book, The Indigo Children, written by the husband and wife team of Lee Carroll and Jan Tober1, with the contributions of medical doctors, psychologists, and parents whose essays are included in the text. The adjective "indigo" is used because it is claimed these children appear with an indigo-hued aura.
