Immortality: Incredible Journey To Immortality

The enormity of death is felt by people when they lose someone close to them. Knowledge and spirituality are often the light at the end of the tunnel in such moments of sadness. A human being who has died, is like a torch extinguished.

However, the flame of his life burns in his children, friends, work, and in his ideas. He has enriched the earth on which he has walked, the rivers in which he has bathed, and the living beings with whom he has been in communion.

Immortality: The Seven Eternal Values

In the Indian tradition there are seven immortals: Aswathama, Bali, Vyas, Hanuman, Vibhishana, Kripacharya and Parashuram. They symbolise certain higher ideals.

These seven immortals exemplify certain basic truths, laws and standards of ethical behaviour which transcend time, locale and generation. They are universal and immutable. Their immortality is therefore not mere deathlessness - it is more the immortalising of each divine principle they stood for and upheld even in the face of adversity and pressure.

Immortality: Seek The Immortal

Desire determines which sort of objects you will have in your next life. If you desire wealth very much you will get it in your next life. If you desire power very much you will get it in your next life. But money and power cannot give you eternal bliss and immortality. You must be very careful in your choice. Entertain one strong desire, the desire for Moksha or the final emancipation. Shun worldly desires ruthlessly. You will soon be freed from the round of births and deaths.

The death and dying and the life after death has always fascinated man. This is an excerpt from the book What Becomes Of The Soul After Death by Sri Swami Sivananda.

Immortality: Immortal Love is Within Reach

What is the purpose of life? What do we want? Some say the purpose of life is to ensure that one doesn't come back to this planet - because it is bereft of love. When love is there, it is painful.

By taking a multilateral view of life, one can begin to see the purpose of life from all angles. Then we come to realise that we want a love that doesn't die out, a love that doesn't cause pain, a love that grows and stands forever.

Immortality: Encyclopedia - Raëlism

Raëlism is the belief system promoted by the Raëlian Movement, a quasi-religious organization which believes that scientifically advanced extraterrestrials known as the Elohim (taken from the Hebrew texts of the Christian Bible and the Torah and usually translated into God in English but translated by those who came from the sky in the Raëlian message) created life on Earth through genetic engineering, and that a combination of human cloning and "mind transfer" can ultimately provide immortality. Raëlism is a new religious movement and has been perc ...

A Burns Supper is a celebration of the life and poetry of the poet Robert Burns, author of the version of the Scots song Auld Lang Syne, which is generally sung at Hogmanay and other New Year celebrations around the English-speaking world.
