imagining: Your Imagination, the Ultimate Success Tool

One of the often overlooked keys to making visualization and affirmations work is the feelings involved. Imagining success without mixing in a whole lot of positive feeling is nothing more than a mental exercise. But fuel your visualization and affirmations with faith, gratitude, passion, or excitement and suddenly you have a powerful life changing tool. That tool is simply the imagination.

imagining: Stre-e-e-etch Your Imagination

"Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand."

Albert Einstein, Physicist, 1879-1955

All of us have a fairly vivid imagination, but unfortunately, we do not control it. It controls us.

Here are some simple visualization exercises that will help you train your imagination to flex its muscles. You can perform these anytime, anywhere, and in just a matter of seconds.

imagining: Encyclopedia II - Human extinction - Perception of human extinction risk

The general level of fear about human extinction (in the near term) is very low. It is not an outcome considered by many as a credible risk (excluding religious extinction). Suggested reasons for human extinction's low public visibility: There have been countless prophesies of extinction throughout history; in most cases the predicted date of doom has passed without much notice, making future warnings less frightening. However, a survivor bias would undercut the credibility of accurate extinction warnings. John von Neumann was p ...

imagining: Encyclopedia II - Human extinction - Counter arguments

There are no convincing arguments that the extinction of human race is inevitable. The evidence of previous extinctions of animal races can be countered by including a new factor into equation - the human intelligence and thus technological development. Development of technology might lead to other outcomes than traditional extinction (see Technological Singularity). It has also been suggested that the human species may develop technology to colonize other planets, and thus greatly reduce the possibility of its extinction. However, this would only extend the lifespan of the species, a ...

imagining: Encyclopedia II - Human extinction - Attitudes to human extinction

Attitudes to human extinction vary widely depending on beliefs concerning spiritual survival (souls, heaven, reincarnation, and so forth), the value of the human race, whether the human race evolves individually or collectively, and many other factors. Many religions prophesy an end time to the universe, so eventual human extinction is necessarily a part of the faith of many humans, to the extent that the end time means the absolute end ...

imagining: Encyclopedia II - Human extinction - Observations in support of eventual human extinction

As about 99.9% of species that have ever existed on Earth have become extinct, it is often suggested that all species have a finite lifespan. If this were the case, human extinction would be inevitable. Humans are unique in their adaptive and technological capabilities, so it is not possible to draw reliable inferences about the probability of human extinction based on the past extinctions of other species (this fact is also used as an argument that extinctions in humans may occur faster than in other successful species). It should also be noted that the human species is th ...
