London Underground - Iconography.
Transport for London's Tube map (pdf) and "roundel" logo are instantly recognisable by any Londoner, almost any Briton, and many people around the world. The stylised Tube map as we now know it (original maps were often street-maps with the location of the lines superimposed) evolved from an original design[3] by electrical engineer Harry Beck in 1931. See Tube map for an in-depth analysis of its history and its topological nature. The map has been such a successful concept that ...

HALCALI - The New Style.
In Winter 2003, HALCALI released their 5th single, the Christmas-themed "ストロベリーチップス" (Strawberry Chips). This single continued to show the fluctuation between rap and J-Pop.
After Strawberry Chips, HALCALI's visual style shifted, along with the layout and lyrical style of their songs. Their 5th single, "マーチングマーチ" (Marching March), was the first to showcase this new style. This change in style is attributed to HALCALI's coming-of-age, however it also represents the changing of fads that occurred in Japanese teens at the time and was n ...

 | | | Image: Encyclopedia II - Horned God - ImageThe Horned God is always portrayed with horns or antlers, which are of course his distinguishing feature. The God's horns are considered symbols of male potency, strength and protection. Sometimes they are seen in a sense as phallic symbols. The horn has been a religious symbol for thousands of years. An altar made entirely of stag horns was built in the temple of Apollo at Delos, and temples to the Goddess Diana usually contained horns as well. The horn is also seen as a symbol of fruitfulness a ...

 | | | Image: Encyclopedia II - Professional Darts Corporation - ImageThe PDC sought to attract a younger audience of both sexes for darts. Through the years, it was not uncommon to see politicians, musicians, football players, boxers and other sporting personalities attending their events. The British Darts Organisation would subsequently seek to emulate most of these innovations.
Players would enter matches with their own signature theme music whilst flanked by security men and female valets down to the oche. A "big-time" atmosphere was also created by using smoke machines and pyrotechnics during these sometimes elaborate ...

 | | | Image: Encyclopedia II - Céline Dion - ImageUnlike most modern pop stars of the contemporary music industry, Dion dresses modestly in her videos, performances and public appearances, and has vowed never to wear revealing outfits. This has led some to believe that her image does not play a large role in garnering media attention or selling records. In addition, her demeanor, stage movements and music is often the subject of media ridicule, where she is repeatedly impersonated on shows like Mad TV and Saturday Night Live. However, Dion seems unabashed by media ridicule: "I ...

 | | | Image: Encyclopedia II - The Lucksmiths - ImageIn terms of album art and street press, The Lucksmiths were, for a long time, propagators of the now commercially popular retro-chic. Although, this appeared to end sometime during 1996. In terms of attire, The Lucksmiths are nothing short of well dressed yet they are by no means extravagant. Appropriate to their philosophy of accessability, they dress much like their fans would wearing t-shirts, shirts and jeans.
Their musical setup, however, remains quite unique and refreshing in a world of drum machines and synthesisers. Tali sings ...

It is believed by most citizens of Westchester County, New York to have the worst crime rate of the area of Southern Westchester. Several native rappers such as DMX and Jadakiss help contribute to the criminal mystique of Yonkers. The worst neighborhood is considered Getty Square, a haven for gambling and drugs. Gangs in Yonkers range from Italian Mafia groups such as The Tanglewood Boys, which is a recruiting body for the Lucchese Family, to Puerto Rican gangs, to African-American ...

Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Image
Image - If you dream that you see images, you will have poor success in business or love.
- To set up an image in your home, portends that you will be weak minded and easily led astray. Women should be careful of their reputation after a dream of this kind. If the images are ugly, you will have trouble in your home.

 | | | Image: Do Hindus worship idols?Hinduism: Do Hindus worship idols?
No, Hindus are not idol worshippers in the sense implied. They
are intelligent people, and intelligent people do not worship stones or
statues. Hindus invoke the presence of great souls living in higher
consciousness into stone images so that we can feel the presence of God. Though
we may have a stone image of a God, we are invoking the physical presence of
the God into the stone image to bless us. Invocations of this nature can be
performed by invoking God's presence in a fire, or in a tree, or in the
enlightened person of a Sat Guru.

 | | | Image: Mandala as Symbol of the UniverseMandala, which literally means circle, largely
associated with religions and cults of India and Tibet, was also used as a
potent symbol by the American Indians, the original inhabitants of Central
America, and by the aborigines of Australia.
Across cultures, the universe is represented as a
series of concentric circles, maybe as a model of the solar system. In Tantra,
the central point represents Mount Meru around which the earth is situated, and
the concentric circles represent the cosmic aspects of the universe, like
energy fields and atmospheric zones. In Hindu and Buddhist interpretations, the
centre of the Mandala is the ultimate divine principle uniting the object and
the subject as they spin out of the centre. This may refer to the cosmos or to
the human body.

Creating Pictures In Your AuraCreating
Pictures In Your Aura
Mental
pictures can be created in your head and then transferred to the energy field
around your body, your aura. If you create a picture that you are a little too
fat in the rear end, you will invariably take that picture and place it right
on your posterior! Then, each time you look in the mirror, you subconsciously
see the picture and reinforce that negative image: "See, I knew I was too
fat." This may be one reason why so many people end up gaining weight
while on a diet; the negative image pictures they create about themselves get
reinforced so much that it is hard to change them!

Spiritual Theosophical
Dictionary on
Image
Image. Occultism permits no other image than that of the living image of divine man (the symbol of Humanity) on earth. The Kabbala teaches that this divine Image, the copy of the sublime and holy upper Image (the Elohim) has now changed into another similitude, owing to the development of men’s sinful nature. It is only the upper divine Image (the Ego) which is the same; the lower (personality) has changed, and man, now fearing the wild beasts, has grown to bear on his face the similitude of many of them. (Zohar I. fol. 71a.) In the early period of Egypt there were no images; but later, as Lenormand says, "In the sanctuaries of Egypt they divided the properties of nature and consequently of Divinity (the Elohim, or the Egos), into seven abstract qualities, characterised each by an emblem, which are matter, cohesion, fluxion, coagulation, accumulation, station and division ". These were all attributes symbolized in various images.

 | | | Image: Waging Peace Through Constructive Images
Recently, this sentence stopped me short: "Before we can live in peace, we have to be able to imagine, to image peace." On similar lines, sculptor and activist Dana Toomey writes of how once, reading the newspaper, she counted 50 different kinds of war around the globe. Why is it when most of us want peace, war is so prevalent, she wondered. Trying to envision a new culture without war, she asked herself - since humanity has never experienced life without violence, what would peace be like? How would we get the things we want? Who would be our heroes? Is anyone or anything pointing the way?
