Human - Mind: Encyclopedia - Human

Humans or human beings define themselves in biological, social, and spiritual terms. Biologically, humans are classified as the mammalian species Homo sapiens (Latin for "wise man" or "thinking man"): a bipedal primate of the superfamily Hominoidea, together with the other apes: chimpanzees, gorillas, orangutans, and gibbons. Humans have an erect body carriage that frees their upper limbs for manipulating objects and a highly developed brain capable of abstract reasoning, speech, language, and ...

Human - Mind: Encyclopedia II - Existential therapy - View of the Human Mind

Although humans are essentially alone in the world, we long to be connected to others. We want to have meaning in their lives while they have meaning in ours, but ultimately we must come to realize that we cannot depend on others for our validation, and with that realization we finally acknowledge and understand that we are fundamentally alone. The result of this revelation is anxiety in the knowledge ...

Human - Mind: The Human Energy Body - The Aura

The Human Energy Body - Aura

Everyone is surrounded by an electromagnetic field, and this field is called an aura. The aura has been depicted throughout history in literature and paintings. Angel pictures show it as a halo; pictures of Jesus often depict a light around his head. Auras are not unique to angels and religious leaders, however; a field of energy surrounds us all.

Human - Mind: Balancing and Charging the Chakras

Balancing and Charging the Chakras

The energy of your body will not be balanced and free flowing if you do not have good emotional balance, good physical health, and good relationships with your surroundings and yourself.

Almost no one is ever perfectly balanced. If you could do this, you would be able to rise from the dead, have a body transformed into a cosmic molecular structure and commune with the gods as an equal.

Human - Mind: Creating Pictures In Your Aura

Creating Pictures In Your Aura

Mental pictures can be created in your head and then transferred to the energy field around your body, your aura. If you create a picture that you are a little too fat in the rear end, you will invariably take that picture and place it right on your posterior! Then, each time you look in the mirror, you subconsciously see the picture and reinforce that negative image: "See, I knew I was too fat." This may be one reason why so many people end up gaining weight while on a diet; the negative image pictures they create about themselves get reinforced so much that it is hard to change them!

Human - Mind: New Global Order and Oneness Principle

New Global Order and Oneness Principle

Thirty years ago the historian Arnold Toynbee and Daisaku Ikeda, head of the Japanese Buddhist Soka Gokkai International, discussed at length various pertinent issues, trying to discern the future direction that our world must take if it is to survive these "times of the end".

Toynbee remarks, "...The question of mankind's future religion arises because all the current religions have proved unsatisfactory... A future religion that is to bring into being, and to keep in being, a new civilisation will have to be one that will enable mankind to contend with, and to overcome, the evils that are serious present threats to human survival."

Human - Mind: Hardship Throws Up A Million Saviours

Hardship Throws Up A Million Saviours

When we run for cover as the sky opens up and the rain comes thundering down to the accompaniment of a million kettle-drums; when in the middle of the night, our bed dances across the floor of our room in the arms of a mighty earthquake, we exclaim: "Please, God, help me out of this!" - no matter in what language we've muttered the words, no matter what age we are living in, or where. Then there is one God, the protector of all humanity.

Human - Mind: Baha'i Perspective On Gender Divide

Baha'i Perspective On Gender Divide

Nearly 121 million children around the world receive little or no schooling, and the majority of these children are girls. Why is the gender divide so deep? What is holding us back from pursuing a policy of enlightened self-interest?

The Baha'i international community has long recognised the importance of educating girls because as future mothers, they would be better equipped to encourage Generation X - of either gender - to go to school. Nearly 90 years ago, Abdu'l-Baha said: "The education of women is of greater importance than the education of men, for they are the mothers of the race, and mothers play an important role in rearing children. So, they must be capably trained in order to educate both sons and daughters".

Human - Mind: Energy - The River Of Life

Aura Clearing and Chakra Clearing

In a healthy body, each layer of the aura is brightly colored, vibrant, full of energy, and flowing. When one's energy becomes imbalanced, stagnant, or blocked, the aura can have the appearance of being discolored, ripped, torn, or dented. The chakras in a healthy body should also appear clear, vibrant, and full of energy. They should be round in appearance and rotating in a clockwise direction. When afflicted, the chakras can appear cracked, deformed, or out of alignment with each other. If there is an imbalance in one of the layers of the aura or one of the chakras, it can have a direct effect of the information processed.

Human - Mind: Eat Your Mango and Enjoy It Too

The first and foremost of all thoughts in the human mind is the primeval thought - IÓ. Only after this thought, other thoughts arise. Ramana Maharishi says that if you could mentally follow this - I - thread until it leads to its source, you would discover that the first thought to appear, is also the last to disappear.

Erection of the statues: All Statues Have Feet of Clay

The Anglo-American war in Iraq had many aspects to it, but the most poignant image to many was that of the dramatic collapse of Saddam's larger-than-life statue in Baghdad's Firdaus Square.

Human - Mind: Encyclopedia II - Rational-emotive therapy - View of the Human Mind

REBT posits that human beings are born with the dual potentials for both healthy and unhealthy thought processes. The healthy process rational thinking and the unhealthy variety irrational thinking. Rational thinking, as would be expected, means objectively seeing things as they really are, whereas irrational thinking distorts reality by misinterpreting things that happen. At the core of REBT is the A-B-C theory of personality. The A stands for an activating event, usually some type of challenging life situation. An example activating ...

Human - Mind: For the Good of the World

Oneness: For the Good of the World

The Bhagavad Gita lays utmost emphasis on the good of the world or lokasamgraha. Work done for lokasamgraha not only prevents destruction of the world; it also contributes towards social efficiency.

Human - Mind: Kundalini Maha Yoga and World Peace

Kundalini Maha Yoga and World Peace

We are in a state of unbalanced development, lacking on the spiritual side. Therefore, to attain what is missing -- peace, harmony and brotherhood -- it is necessary to realize that the entire universe is the creation of God, that all life is one, and that all are children of love. This realization is spiritual; it is not intellectual comprehension of an ideal.

Human - Mind: Powerful Magnifiers of Energy - Crystals

Crystals are tools that augment the flow of energy. They are like magnifying glasses, enhancing that which lies behind them (our thoughts, feelings, intentions and desires). This applies not only to desirable energy, however, but to all energy, both positive and negative. Through conscious use of crystals as tools, we can enhance anything we undertake. Quartz crystals have electromagnetic properties, hence their use in a lot of electrical devices. The human energy field is also electric (electromagnetic), and crystals can similarly enhance human energies.

Human - Mind: Crystal Healing

This article presents a couple of ways crystals can be used to augment energy healing, also known as therapeutic touch or healing touch. In all energy healing work, the healing can be instantaneous if the healer is connected to truth and the recipient is receptive. It's important to remember that the healer is simply a channel for pure positive energy. The patient is the one who is responsible for accepting the healing. As a healer, it's wise to remember that when we spiritually ask for aid in helping another in any way, we immediately summon great help from Spirit.

Human - Mind: Rise Above Dogma, Realise The Truth

Oneness: Rise Above Dogma, Realise The Truth

When I pass by the neighbourhood mosque, I bow my head in respect just as I do when I pass by the temple. The mullah's call to the faithful turns me towards prayer and God. I go through the same upsurge of emotions when I visit a church or gurdwara. When I bow my head in humility to Christ and the Guru Granth Sahib, I see in them my beloved Lord Krishna. Similarly, when I hear the Buddhist chant: ''Buddham Sharanam Gachchhami'', it continues to reverberate within me for long after, giving me the same sense of peace I experience when I say my usual prayers.
