House Dictionary: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Rain

Rain

  • To be out in a clear shower of rain, denotes that pleasure will be enjoyed with the zest of youth, and prosperity will come to you.
  • If the rain descends from murky clouds, you will feel alarmed over the graveness of your undertakings.
  • To see and hear rain approaching, and you escape being wet, you will succeed in your plans, and your designs will mature rapidly.
  • To be sitting in the house and see through the window a downpour of rain, denotes that you will possess fortune, and passionate love will be requited.
  • To hear the patter of rain on the roof, denotes a realization of domestic bliss and joy. Fortune will come in a small way.
  • To dream that your house is leaking during a rain, if the water is clear, foretells that illicit pleasure will come to you rather unexpectedly; but if filthy or muddy, you may expect the reverse, and also exposure.
  • To find yourself regretting some duty unperformed while listening to the rain, denotes that you will seek pleasure at the expense of another's sense of propriety and justice.
  • To see it rain on others, foretells that you will exclude friends from your confidence.
  • For a young woman to dream of getting her clothes wet and soiled while out in a rain, denotes that she will entertain some person indiscreetly, and will suffer the suspicions of friends for the unwise yielding to foolish enjoyments.
  • To see it raining on farm stock, foretells disappointment in business, and unpleasantness in social circles.
  • Stormy rains are always unfortunate.

House Dictionary: Theosophy Occultism Mysticism Dictionary on Life-Atom

A Theosophical definition of Life-Atom :

Life-Atom

A learning, evolving entity, each one a unit in one or other of the numberless hosts or hierarchies of them which exist. A life-atom is a vital individualized vehicle or body of a spiritual monad, which latter is the consciousness-center, the ultimate, noblest, highest, finest part of us. The heart of every life-atom is a spiritual monad. Life-atoms are young gods, embryo gods, and are, therefore, in a continuous process of self-expressing themselves on the planes of matter.

A life-atom may be briefly said to be the ensouling power in every primary or ultimate particle. An atom of physical matter is ensouled by such a life-atom, which is its pranic-astral-vital primary, the life-atom of it. The life-atom is not the physical atom, which latter is but its garment or vehicle and is compounded of physical matter only, which breaks up when its term of life has run, and which will return again in order to reimbody itself anew through the instrumentality and by the innate force or energy latent in its ensouling primary, the life-atom.

In other words, the life-atom has a house of life, and this house of life is its body or physical atom; and the life-atom itself is the lowest expression of the monadic light within that atomic house.

House Dictionary: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Falling

Falling : Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Falling

FALLING DREAM

You could be falling from anywhere, a high rise building, from a mountain, from a plane, or even from your bed. This is a very common dream, and is sometimes accompanied by muscle jerks, which may jolt you, awake.

The dream can occur due to

  • The posture of a limb dangling off the bed
  • Lowering of your blood pressure
  • Movement of fluid in the middle ear

After the fall, you may be hurt, you may be unharmed, or you wake up before you hit the ground.

At an emotional level the dream probably signifies a fear of fall from position/moral/ethical values, sexual inadequacy, fear of losing your job, the way your dream ends tells you how you would handle such a situation.

One interesting theory of a falling dream goes way back when man made his house on trees?

Recurring falling dreams could mean that your emotional strength is not at an optimum level. Trying to relax, by listening to music, visualizing tranquil scenes, can help you avoid falling dreams.

House Dictionary: Mysticism Magick Dictionary on MISTLETOE

MISTLETOE

The Encyclopedia Britannica cites Pliny the Elder as the authority for Druidic mistletoe lore. As a tea it was considered both an antidote for poison and a cure for sterility and barrenness. Thus, to kiss someone under the mistletoe is symbolic of its purpose. Some scholars call mistletoe the golden bough of classical legend.

In the French comic strip, Asterix le Gaulois, the tribal wizard, Panoramix, using his golden serpe, collects mistletoe for potions. These potions faithfully confer superhuman strength on the drinker, much as spinach does for Popeye. It's inevitable that we should think of physical strength as virility (maintaining erection) and from virility to fertility is a matter of course.

The word is Anglo-Saxon misteltan (the -tan being a "twig") from German Mistel, "mistletoe", a diminutive of Mist, "dung". For the mythic mind, excretion and birth are synonymous. Mistletoe was assumed to be the oak's product - hence, fertile. This also reflects, as we've seen many times before, the association, by the Unconscious, of supernatural powers with any "product" of the body.

We nature-deprived postmoderns should bear in mind that mistletoe is botanically unique. It is the only highly-evolved flowering plant that is parasitic; this unusual botanical fact should automatically alert the M/magic(k)all mind to the possibility that it must have unusual pharmaceutical properties as well. A cure for barrenness, of course, and an aphrodisiac are two entirely different things. There is no known chemical substance that has a specific, predictable aphrodisiac effect on human beings. We have too many complicated and individual reactions for that. Everyone knows, for instance, that alcohol isn't really an aphrodisiac. It simply releases inhibitions, some of which may be sexual, but not necessarily. Most drugs don't stimulate the sexual centers at all. They cause fatigue as they wear off and it is the fatigue (or lactic acid) so generated that acts as the stimulant.

Amongst the Germans the decorating of trees for religious effects goes back to pagan times. The Teutonic religions, however, borrowed much from the more advanced Celts and "tree-worshipping" is always associated with the latter. In the 8th Century it was St. Boniface who dedicated the fir tree to X, thus profaning the sacred oak of Odin (we see how the Teutons and the Druids had already joined forces). But the custom of bringing greenery into the house during the winter solstice is an ancient custom, long preceding Xtianity.

House Dictionary: A Christian Theological Dictionary on Communion

A Christian theological definition of Communion according to CARM - The Christian Apologetics & Research Ministry:

"

Communion

The Lord's Supper (Matt. 26:26-30; Mark 14:22-26; Luke 22:14-20; 1 Cor. 1:23-26). It is the breaking of bread (Acts 2:42,46) and a time to give thanks (Luke 22:17,19). It was originally instituted by Jesus (Matt. 26:26-29) on the night of the Passover meal which was an annual occurrence celebrating the "passing over" of the angel of death that claimed the firstborn of every house in Egypt (Exodus 12). The Lord's Supper, or communion, replaces the Passover meal with the "body and blood" (Mark 14:22-24) of Jesus. It is to be taken only by believers (1 Cor. 11:23-28). (For further study see John 6:26-58 and 1 Cor. 11:27-34).

House Dictionary: What is Healing dreams?

How can dreams be used for healing? Many of the people I interviewed were women who had suffered breast cancer. Their stories were as varied and individual as the dreamers themselves and ranged from little bears helping with house cleaning to dramatic stories of physical and spiritual loss and rebirth played out in dreaming and in waking.
When we finally feel confident in exploring the elements of dream diagnosis, the next step is to explore the elements of healing in our dreams. Diagnosis is presented not to frighten us, but to allow us to begin a journey of healing.

House Dictionary: House facing a Street or Lane

It is our tradition from time immemorial to erect a statue of Lord Vinayaka (Elephant God) or the figure of an elephant, as a remedial measure in the case of the entrance of a house or building faces a lane or a street.(The lane or street jutting into the house of building)

The rule says that it is a great defect to have a house facing a lane or street, and those who live in such a house will lose peace of mind.

House Dictionary: Dream Works

In the stillness of the night, when not a sound breaks the hushed silence, they timorously creep into your mind. Fragile, flittering forms—often more real than reality—seek you out from the deepest abyss of your soul and open for you a vista of visions—nonsensical, terrifying, fantastic—and sometimes, just sometimes, hauntingly beautiful. You wake up with a lump in your throat that threatens to cascade down your eyes, a lingering nostalgia for something near, yet eternity away. But weren't you closer to believing, even then, that somewhere, all that you saw was real; that, beyond the tangible truth of ticking time, you had lived one moment of timeless infinity? Perhaps that's the secret. The chance to glimpse beyond. Why else should we take a dream, those phantasms of the chaotic unconscious, so seriously?

House Dictionary: House Of Hinduism: Room For Everyone

No religion preaches violence. If all religions advocate peace, why then do some who profess allegiance to their religion, commit violence to defend their peace-loving, peace-preaching faith? India is home to some of the oldest religious texts known to man. The Vedas and the Upanishads , for instance, do not preach a particular religion, nor do they spell out a list of dos and don’ts.

The Rig Veda says: “ Aano bhadrah kritavo yantu vishwatah ”, which means, let noble thoughts come to us from everywhere. These ancient texts did not have a single author, nor their philosophy a collective name. Because of its universality, this particular stream came to be known as Sanatan Dharma , or 'perennial duty’. Later it came to be called Hinduism. Unfortunately we now have its political version - Hindutva .
