No religion preaches violence. If all religions advocate peace, why then do some who profess allegiance to their religion, commit violence to defend their peace-loving, peace-preaching faith? India is home to some of the oldest religious texts known to man. The Vedas and the Upanishads , for instance, do not preach a particular religion, nor do they spell out a list of dos and don’ts. The Rig Veda says: “ Aano bhadrah kritavo yantu vishwatah ”, which means, let noble thoughts come to us from everywhere. These ancient texts did not have a single author, nor their philosophy a collective name. Because of its universality, this particular stream came to be known as Sanatan Dharma , or 'perennial duty’. Later it came to be called Hinduism. Unfortunately we now have its political version - Hindutva .

| | | | House: Encyclopedia II - House mouse - Life cycle and reproductionFemale house mice have an estrous cycle that is 4-6 days long, with estrus itself lasting less than a day. If several females are held together under crowded conditions, they will often not have an estrus at all; if they are then exposed to male urine, they will become estrous after 72 hours.
Male house mice court females by emitting characteristic ultrasonic calls in the 30kHz - 110kHz range. The calls are most frequent during courtship when the male is sniffing and following the female. However, the calls continue after mating has b ...

a Name?Feng
Shui and Names
Naming
something enables us to claim it. We will take on more ownership with something
that we've named, whether it's a house, a car, a dog or a favorite chair. More
importantly, once something becomes personal, we're more apt to have compassion
and patience with any trouble that might come up. We're less apt to cut corners
when doing repairs or cleaning if the space has become personal.

- Chanku StapanamVastu Shastra: Chanku
Stapanam
It is very important to perform the ceremonies
of installation of a conch-shell (Chanku Stapanam) and incantations to invoke
the protection of the regents of the cardinal directions (Thikku Bhandhanam)
before raising a new house or a workshop in the place where an old building has
been demolished or in a site where there was no building standing for many
years. Performance of these ceremonies ensures plenty, prosperity and good
fortune and nullify the evil effects due to the presence of evil spirits buried
underground, and renews the gravitational power of the earth. During the first
twelve years after the construction of a house, the divinity present in that
house will gradually diminish.
