Homeopath: Encyclopedia - Homeopath

Homeopath is a homeopathic practitioner. Homeopaths are usually graduates from certain homeopathic schools or colleges. Some people consider a homeopath should only be a MD to have the responsibility to treat deseases. This is a large argued subject. Also according to Hahnemman himself, who was the creator of homeopathy was a MD. However most schools in homeopathy treat and regard all students, i.e. doctors and non-doctors, as equal. In some countries it is needed for a non-doctor homeopath to complete courses in common medicin ...

Homeopathy (also spelled homœopathy or homoeopathy) from the Greek words όμοιος, hómoios (similar) and πάθος, páthos (suffering), is a controversial system of alternative medicine. Homeopathy calls for treating "like with like", a doctrine referred to as the "Law of Similars". The practitioner considers the totality of symptoms of a given case, then chooses as a remed ...

Homeopath: Encyclopedia - Biodynamic agriculture

Biodynamic agriculture, or Biodynamics comprises an ecological and sustainable system of agricultural production, particularly of food for humans that claims to respect all creation. It is based on the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, particularly eight lectures given by him in Schloss Koberwitz in Silesia, Germany in 1924 (nowadays close to Wrocław, Poland), shortly before his death. At the time Steiner believed that the introduction of chemical farming was a major problem. He found that seeds had dramatically less vitality and t ...

The term allopathic medicine is used by adherents of alternative medicine to refer to any form of mainstream medicine. This phrase is commonly used as a form of disparagement by critics of mainstream medicine. The term was coined by Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, to differentiate homeopathic practices from conventional medicine, based on the types of treatments used. The term "Allopath" comes from the Greek roots meaning "opposite" and "disease"-- the form "allopathy" being formed by false analogy with othe ...

Homeopath: Encyclopedia - Anthroposophical Medicine

Anthroposophical medicine is a holistic and salutogenetic approach to health. It thus focuses on ensuring that the conditions for health are present in a person; combating illness is often necessary but is insufficient alone. The approach was founded in the 1920s by Rudolf Steiner in conjunction with Ita Wegman, who carried the impulse forward after Steiner's death in 1925. Steiner called the new medicinal possibilities an extension of existing possibilities; thus, conventional medicines and therapies are also employed, though generally this is the case when anthroposophical medicine's a ...
