ecumenical: General or universal. -

• ecumenism: the principles or practices of promoting worldwide cooperation and better understanding among differing denominations, especially among Christians. From the Greek oecumene, "the inhabited world."

A Christian term. The broader term interfaith is used by all religions striving for peace and harmony.

elusive: Tending to escape one's grasp or understanding. Hard to capture.

emanation: To "flow out from." Abhasa. To come forth from a source, to be emitted or issued from. A monistic doctrine of creation whereby God issues forth manifestation like rays from the sun or sparks from a fire.

E. - The fifth letter of the English alphabet. The he (soft) of the Hebrew alphabet becomes in the Ehevi system of reading that language an E. Huang Ti or Hoang Ty (Chinese) Great spirit; according to a legend, the Great Spirit's sons fall into the Valley of Pain (our earth), by which they acquire new wisdom of the lower spheres, their leader, the Flying Dragon, having drunk of the forbidden ambrosia. They are identical with the Fallen Angels or reincarnating egos (TG 143).
