 | | | Healing Arts: What has organic gardening to do with spiritual
healing?Organic Gardening
What has organic gardening to do with spiritual healing? Allow me a few
moments of your time and I shall tell you. A centre such as we are developing
will be a place of tranquillity, comfort and revival, both spiritual and
physical. I suppose this could be achieved without the benefit of nature on the
doorstep but nature itself is a healer, and can offer so much to the troubled
spirit. Let us take a stroll through a year in the garden of our healing
centre, where visitors will be encouraged to enjoy their surroundings as much,
or as little, as they so desire.

 | | | Healing Arts: Vasthu in The
VedasVasthu
in The Vedas
Each Veda has a
subsidiary: ayurveda (knowledge of life) for rgveda, dhanurveda (knowledge of
tools and weapon) for yajurveda, gandharvaveda (knowledge of arts) for samaveda
and sthapatyaveda (architecture) for atharvaveda. In addition, puranas,
nyayasastras, mimamsas and dharma sastras (smrtis) are also considered as
upangas. Sthapatyaveda which is the subsidiary of atharvaveda is the subject of
this discussion. Because it is the subsidiary of Veda, its authority is clear
and undisputed.

 | | | Healing Arts: Ayurveda and Herbal MedicineAyurveda and Herbal Medicine
Today, you
may think in this technologically advanced society, (as I sit by my computer
writing this, and you sit by yours reading it) there are a whole range of
patented chemical drugs tailored for all ailments, so why use herbal medicines?
Herbs are as effective for healing today as they were
in our grandmothers' day, and for thousands of years before that. We may live
in a very different world today but the human body hasn't changed, in fact it's
often struggling to cope with ifs new modern environment.

The Principles and Practices of Tantric YogaSacred Sexuality:
The Principles and Practices of Tantric Yoga
We are in a season of
accelerated personal and global awakening, a season that calls us to be
clear about our values, our priorities, our soul purpose for this incarnation,
and fundamentally, to be clear about our self-identity. But as metaphysics and
mysticism go mainstream, great discernment is called for lest we bring along
our old separate, fear-based self-identities that manifest the illusion of all
lack and limitation.

 | | | Healing Arts: The Beauty of Tai Chi MovementsTai Chi movements have a ballet-like quality; yet
there is an underlying strength. Tai Chi is the most highly evolved art,
science and philosophy of mind and body development, which gives you the -
strength of a bull; the serenity of a Buddha.
The Tai Chi movements were originated and refined by
those who were highly knowledgeable about the principles of movement, action,
physiology and health. It is usual for people unacquainted with Tai Chi to
remark: - It looks just like balletÓ.

Hindu -
Hinduism Dictionary on Culture
culture: Development or refinement of intellect, emotions, interests, manners, and tastes. The ideals, customs, skills and arts of a people or group that are transmitted from one generation to another. Culture is refined living that arises in a peaceful, stable society. Hindu culture arises directly out of worship in the temples. The music, the dance, the art, the subtleties of mannerism and interraction between people all have their source in the humble devotion to the Lord, living in the higher, spiritual nature, grounded in the security of the immortal Self within.

 | | | Healing Arts: Visions
and IdealsThe dreamers are
the saviors of the world. As the visible world is sustained by the invisible,
so men, through all their trials and sins and sordid vocations, are nourished
by the beautiful visions of their solitary dreamers. Humanity cannot forget its
dreamers. It cannot let their ideals fade and die. It lives in them. It knows
them in the realities which it shall one day see and know

 | | | Healing Arts: History of BuddhismThe history of
Buddhism spans from the 6th century BCE to the present,
starting with the birth of the Buddha Siddharta
Gautama. This makes it one of the oldest religions practiced
today. Throughout this period, the religion evolved as it encountered various
countries and cultures, adding to its original Indian foundation Hellenistic as well as Central Asian, East Asian, and Southeast Asian cultural elements. In the process, its geographical extent became
considerable so as to affect at one time or another most of the Asian
continent. The history of Buddhism is also characterized by the development of numerous
movements and schisms, foremost among them the Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana traditions, punctuated by
contrasting periods of expansion and retreat.
