Deathrock - Deathrock revival.
Nearly 20 years after Deathrock appeared on the music scene in Southern California, the Deathrock revival began in Southern California.

Horror Punk is sometimes also used as a synonym for Deathrock though in reality it is a different (though closely related) sub-genre of Punk.

Generally speaking, Horror Punk is considered more masculine, less introspective and less romantic than Deathrock. Conversely, Deathrock is considered more serious, moody and Post Punk influenced than Horror Punk. Keyboards are another differentiating point: Deathrock bands frequently use keyboards (mainly for atmosphere) whereas Horror Punk band do not.
Also, Death Rock bands do not use "whoas" in their choruses but they do frequently use the word spooky to describe their music. ...

Nor does Deathrock hold any relation to Gothic Metal. Both of these being genres of Metal Music, which itself has no musical connection to Deathrock.
