Gokujou Parodius!: Encyclopedia II - Parodius Da! - Gameplay

As stated above, gameplay is very similar to the Gradius series, with a few differences. Parodius Da! retains the selectability of different weapons configurations but implements via four different characters: Vic Viper (from Gradius), Octopus, Twin Bee, and Pentarou. The second main difference is the addition of bell power-ups, from the Twinbee series. Gokujou Parodius!: Encyclopedia II - Kid Dracula - Connections with Castlevania

It should be noted that the Japanese name of the Kid Dracula series is Akumajō Dracula, which is also the name used in most of the Castlevania games in Japan (a tradition that has been recently abandoned), and thus suggests that there is a relation between the two. Many of the backgrounds in the game's first level are very similar to many of those found in Castlevania games. Gokujou Parodius!: Encyclopedia II - Parodius Da! - Ports

Parodius Da! has been ported to a number of platforms, most notably the Super Famicom and the PC Engine. The game was also ported on the Famicom with several stages omitted but with a new amusement park stage as well as several hidden bonus stages. Most recently the game, along with several other Gradius titles, has been ported to Java-based cell phones in Japan. The PC Engine version features an additional stage and a new introduction that features several strange-looking japanese characters. Gokujou Parodius!: Encyclopedia II - Gokujou Parodius! - Ports

Gokujō Parodius! was ported to the Super Famicom in 1994. The only significant difference between the console and arcade version where added characters: Goemon/Ebisumaru from Ganbare Goemon, Dracula-Kun/Kid-D from Kid Dracula and Upa/Rupa from Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa.
