The materialist often views a religious person as being unsociable, dogmatic and lacking in intellectual insight. There is a certain perception that 'religious' people don't drink or smoke; they pray before every meal, frown at the free mixing of the sexes, are superstitious, impractical and way behind the times. Hence religious people are looked upon as social misfits. However, the religious person understands that though he may be a social misfit, others are misfits of a different kind. They are spiritual misfits. They do not fit into the wider, more important, spiritual scheme of things.

| | | | | God and Religion: Devotional Worship And Service to All
If we meet no Gods, its because we harbour none, said Emerson. For us, God is not a remote, abstract figure; He is a living, loving Presence. The nirguna or formless God of Shankara’s Advaita is difficult to relate to - but give Him a sweet form and through saguna upasana or worship He can become your very own because of the wonderful ease it creates in human divine encounter. The predominant religious motif of practising Hinduism is this archanam andpadasevanam - the worship and adoration of a God made visible to our eyes in beautiful images, in homes and in temples. It is the ornamental centrepiece of the Vaishnav bhakti tradition set in motion by acharyas like Ramanuja, Madhava and Vallabha.

| | | | God and Religion: Dream
Interpretation - Yoke
Yoke - To dream of seeing a yoke, denotes that you will unwillingly conform to the customs and wishes of others.
- To yoke oxen in your dreams, signifies that your judgment and counsels will be accepted submissively by those dependent upon you. To fail to yoke them, you will be anxious over some prodigal friend.

| | | | God and Religion: Nationalism and patriotism
Politics and the concept of a global identity are two artificial constructs dominating our collective consciousness today. A nationalist professes undying allegiance to his nation. Therefore he would find it impossible to love another nation or its nationalists. Patriotism, on the other hand, is born of a deeper feeling of togetherness and bonding of a people in a particular civilisation/heritage. Hence a patriot would fully understand and appreciate similar sentiments in another pat-riot of a civilisation/heritage different from his own.

| | | | God and Religion: Bhagavata Purana's Eternal Krishna
The Bhagavata Purana and other works tell us stories of how the divine is always trying to break away from its divine fetters. When you are pervasive and omnipresent, how can you have the freedom to play? Being omnipresent, you are constantly watched by those who adore you, worship you and serve you. You need a disguise.

| | | | God and Religion: The Eternal Query - Just Who Are We?
Erwin Schrodinger, father of quantum-wave mechanics declared that the one and only task of science is to answer the one philosophical question: 'Who are we?' In the Kathopanishad, Nachiketa requests Jamaraja: "Please give me knowledge of the Self." Whether extrovert or introvert, for those who go deep into their respective fields of knowledge, a single, universal enigma incessantly and insistently surfaces at the very core: What is the nature of the observer of the field? And, for many scientists and intellectuals, the answer has remained elusive. In The Astonishing Hypothesis - The Scientific Search for the Soul, Nobel laureate Francis Crick admits in the very opening sentence, "The mystery of consciousness... at the present time... is far too difficult to explain."

| | | | God and Religion: Seeking Life-Giving Shakti
Women are the power and very foundation of our existence in the world. When women lose touch with their real selves, there is disharmony. So, it is crucial for women everywhere to make the effort to rediscover their fundamental nature. The infinite potential inherent in men and women is the same. If women really want to, they can somehow acquire the strength to break free of the 'rules' and conditioning that society has imposed on them. The greatest strength of women lies in their innate motherhood, in their creative, life-giving power. And this power can help women to bring about far more significant changes in society than men could ever hope to accomplish.

| | | | God and Religion: Spiritual Counsel For Rio Plus Ten
Spirituality and sustainability go hand in hand. Living in a sustainable manner helps in spiritual growth. This week, representatives of more than a hundred countries are congregating in Johannesburg, South Africa, to discuss and perhaps come to an agreement on how to create sustainable living on Planet Earth. However, none of the information handouts made available so far have given any indication that there will be discussions on the subject of spirituality and its effects on sustainability.

| | | | God and Religion: Three Divine Aspects Of Mahasaraswati
The Vedic concept of Saraswati was three-fold: First, she is like the sacred river which gave birth to the Aryan civilisation. Second, she was vak or speech personified, as expressed in the Rig Veda’s Vak Sukta . 'Speech’ basically refers to the sacred-word or the Vedas themselves. The third and most important aspect is Saraswati’s identification with Gayatri, although the Gayatri mantra is worship of the Sun-god, Suryanarayana. The Sun-god symbolises three female deities: Gayatri, Savitri and Saraswati, to be invoked in the morning, noon and evening respectively.

| | | | God and Religion: Meaning and Definition of KarmaKarma has quite a karma. Long after India's seers immortalized
it in the Vedas, it suffered bad press under European missionaries who belittled
it as "fate" and "fatalism," and today finds itself again
in the ascendancy as the subtle and all-encompassing principle which governs
man's experiential universe in a way likened to gravity's governance over the
physical plane. Like gravity, karma was always there in its fullest potency,
even when people did not comprehend it.

- Water
Water Water is a very common but powerful dream symbol. Its meaning varies with the details and the mood of the dream. Water is a deeply spiritual symbol representing the "water of life" or the "flow of life." Large bodies of water usually represent our unconscious minds or/and soul experiences. Water symbolizes emotions (rough, smooth, clear, murky, etc.). Freud thought that since fluids are involved in sexual activities, at times, water in dreams has sexual connotations. "Beloved Friends, On 15th of November an eight minute report about Indigo Children was broadcast worldwide on CNN, showing that the subject has at last reached mass consciousness. If you would like to view the report online, please go to: www.cnn.com/video/player/player.html?url=/video/us/2005/11/15/tuchman.indigo.children.affl This means that when THE INDIGO EVOLUTION documentary is released this January, the world will be ready to finally respond to the messages as well as the needs of the New Children. The success of the World Premier test-screening of the film in Phoenix earlier this week has set the stage for major impact. | | | | God and Religion: Music Of Masti And Meditation
Over the last century, it is in the realm of art that a contrarian movement developed - towards spirituality, a movement that has been sought to be described by one word: 'Abstract'. One of the first to define the abstract was W Kandinsky, who explained it as non-materialism in art, the exploration of the spiritual entity of things, when art, stripped of its theatricality, and its "bait of entertainment" reached a pure core. The dictionary splits the word abstract into the Latin 'abs', meaning 'away from', and 'tractum', meaning 'to draw'. Clearly, it means to draw away from the external to the internal entity of things.

| | | | God and Religion: Intelligence and Happiness
Intelligence does not in and of itself bring happiness. What brings happiness is acceptance. There is no purpose to intelligence, it is inherent within the energy of all that is. Intelligence and energy are one and the same. Energy is intelligence. Intelligence is energy. Happiness is a result of acceptance. Those who operate with greater mental constraints, for whatever reason, sometimes seem to have an easier time accepting their circumstances, their environment, and themselves, because they are not given to long- winded inner dialoguing and mental journeys into the various nuances of their perceived reality. And so a socalled simple minded person can shrug their shoulders and carry on, accept what is, and that is what creates the avenue for the experience of happiness.

| | | | God and Religion: Why Wicca is Not Celtic PaganismWhy Wicca is Not Celtic Paganism
There are many out there who believe that Wicca and
its related forms of NeoPagism are a type of Celtic Paganism (and vice
versa), but this is simply not
true. The following article is meant to be a comparison of Wicca and Celtic
Paganism in order to demonstrate this, and to educate the public about Celtic
Paganism. While Wicca certainly contains elements of Celtic mythology, folk
magic and religious belief, its basic tenets and beliefs are radically
different from those of Celtic Pagans.

| | | | God and Religion: The Essence Of All
Religion - Laya Yoga Laya Yoga - The
Essence Of All Religion
Yoga is the essence of
every religion and is that what all religions have in common. If a man really
wants to go deeply into the mystical and spiritual essence of their religion,
then he or she comes to practise yoga. We say that yoga is not a religion in a
sense of an individual creed or a sect separating from others, we also say that
yoga is the substance and profundity of every religion and its inner cult. That
is why one can be a member of every religious society and practise yoga. Two
rules, or if one prefers, two commandments present in all scriptures such as
Veda, Koran or the Bible are as if two angelic, divine wings of the Laya Yoga
training. " Be holy because I am Holy" and " Be
so perfect as your Heavenly Father is" these are the signs of an
authentic, spiritual path of universal life.
