Ghost: Encyclopedia - Ghost

A ghost is an alleged non-corporeal manifestation of a dead person (or, rarely, an animal). It is often thought to be the spirit or soul of a person who has remained on Earth after death. According to some beliefs, a ghost may be the personality of a person after his or her death, and not tied directly to the soul or spirit. Every culture in the world carries stories about ghosts, but they vary across time and place, with disagreements both as to what ghosts are and whether they are just f ...

In addition to using new technologies, Ghosts can be augmented using terrazine gas, part of General Horace Warfield's Project Shadow Blade. Ghost: Encyclopedia II - Thir13en Ghosts - The ghosts

The twelve ghosts which make up the Black Zodiac all have their own unique back story, and while these were not described in the film, the production and make-up teams used them as guidelines. All the ghosts were contained in glass prisons, and were caught with the aid of the psychic Rafkin, who could locate them, and on the behalf of Cyrus. 1. The First Born Son (played by Mikhael Speidel) The First Born Son is the ghost of a little boy called Billy Michaels, who was obsessed with cowboy films. Not heeding his parents advice, he played Cowboys and Indians with a real bow and arrow, and ...

Ghost - Ghost messengers. A popular genre of literature from the early Renaissance to the early twentieth century was the Dialogues of the Dead. These were based upon the Witch of Endor story and the visions of Hades found in both Homer's Odyssey and Virgil's Aeneid. In Odyssey, Odysseus travels to Hades and sees the shades of his former colleagues, including some he did not know were dead, and pours out fresh blood, which the dead hunger for, until he can find Tiresias and get ...

Ghost: Ghost Photography

Ghosts seem to manifest in a few interesting ways on film. The most common seems to be as orbs that are not visible to the naked eye, yet nevertheless show up on film as transparent orbs hanging in mid air. There are quite a few theories as to why and how ghosts manage to show up on film when our naked eyes fail to perceive them. Our brains filter most of what we see; it's likely that we simply filter out that which does not make "sense" to our minds.

Ghost: Ghost Theories

There are many different phenomena that tend to get lumped together under the label "ghost." Poltergeists, for example, are the projected energy of a living person that causes noises and movement of objects. But ghosts are no more evil than the living, despite the horror stories and Hollywood hype. By revealing themselves or giving signs of their presence, ghosts and spirits simply seek to communicate with us.

Ghost: The difference between Ghosts and Poltergeists

A widely held misconception regarding poltergeists is that the terms poltergeist and ghost are synonymous. Although there is some similarity between the two, there are several characteristics that set them apart. For example, poltergeist activity is known as a "disturbance," whereas ghost-like activity (fog, mist, transparent figures, etc.) is known as a "haunting." The reason for this difference in terminology is because poltergeists are heard but not seen, whereas ghosts are seen but seldom heard.

Ghost: Encyclopedia - Hungry ghost

A hungry ghost is a kind of ghost associated with hunger common to many religions. In Judeo-Christian theology, for example, the Book of Enoch (an apocryphal book of the Bible whose complete version has only recently been discovered as a part of the Dead Sea Scrolls) describes the fall of the Watchers and the demons who might be the fallen angels (Watchers) themselves, or the offspring of the union of the Watchers and mankind. These creatures are said to wander the world in the form of evil spirits—endlessly yearning for food ...

Ghost: Encyclopedia II - Terran Ghost - Ghost Training

The Terran Confederacy decided to limit Ghosts through at least four methods - a psi-dampener, also known as a neuro-adjuster (which can be set to also suppress or reshape a Ghost's memory) which weakens their psionic powers, neural processing treatments which also weaken their powers, aggression inhibitors (which prevent a Ghost from attacking his/her superior officers) and Ghost conditioning, a powerful form of hypnosis which restricts the use of their psionic abilities. Ghost: Encyclopedia II - The Ghosts of Inverloch - Outline

What makes a heroine of science-fiction like Laureline go riding in a Scottish castle? For what reason is agent Valérian preparing dessert on the watery planet Glapum't? And what brings Mr Albert to London with a bag with a false bottom while the Shingouz try to trade information with Colonel Tloc? The Ghosts of Inverloch (and its continuation, The Rage of Hypsis) constitutes one of the strangest albums of the Valérian series. It is here, indeed, thanks to a compelling space-time paradox, that the world of today will be able to sur ...
