Ancestors were&always will be shown respect, because they accomplished great tasks. Now are in some cultures are worshiped as great spirits.
We also call this Ancestral worship were gifts, incense,&food
were place upon family,temple, or public altars.

Samhain being one of the main holidays to do so on Oct.31& Nov.1
is where you can get a photograph or a drawing of your deceased relatives.

Set up yourself an altar "see" Altars in Wicca&Witchcraft.

Place a candle (color of your choice) and a photograph or the one or ones you love, it can be a dead friend of your or a favorite pet.

Offer some incense or use a food offering and place it into a bowl and place it outside where noone will notice at night.

The animals or a homeless person will take a few bites and deliver the rest to the Spirit world. As for the homeless person do not mention anything about what you're doing.

Burn incense in respect for the dead. The scent will comfort them.
