Lack of Understanding

Thank you for the wonderful replies here. I cannot just refuse to talk-or rather I can do that but it would lead to me sitting and being verbally berated and just not responding. I almost walked out in the midst of it but then I realised that had I done that I would have lost all chances to teach, to impart the knowledge that I have gained of my faith.

Rainy, you had a wonderful outcome ultimately. I don't hope for that degree-even a little respect would be nice.

I try to respect all religions or nonreligions. I am a very religious person myself but I would never force my beliefs on anyone. We all have the freedom to believe as we choose and I feel we all deserve the respect to do so. I am sorry that not everyone feels they should respect others beliefs, but I think it would be a kinder world if they could do so.

I must try to show what is not shown to many, and the only reason why it is unseen is because people choose not to see it. Do we know the diffrence between right and wrong? Of course we do, but do we choose to see it as it is or would we rather aplly it to benefit our inner ego rather than be just. Manytimes we are wrong and we reason with ourselves to make us believe that we are more right then wrong. They say the truth hurts and it does because it is easier to lie then to tell the truth. IT makes life easier to cope with when you dont have to discpline yourself.
Now think of religion. Is it not the one thing that divides people and causes nations to go to war? It has been this way since religion was created.
Now is god peace and love? And if so then why is religion shrouded in such ungodly ways.
God is not a religion , religion is a form of conserving the teachings of those who walked amongst the thought of god.
We think that we honor god by being part of a religion but we are only a part of a society that does not even live in the way of those teachings. If you do not believe me read what ever book you read and analyze the world around you including yourself.
THESE ARE ONLY EXAMPLES :Most Christians eat pork and justify it through the coming of the new testament, were as in the old testament says it is forbidden (not all Christians). Catholics worship graven images were it is forbidden by the 2nd commandment. Muslims fight amongst themselves when they are to be at peace with one another. It is said that when one muslim is in trouble another most come and help his brother rather then to defeat his brother.
God said to multiply not divide this is exactly why mankind will never find the true path because they are not even true to their own path. Jesus said to love thy neighbor, Muhammad said the same.
But people do the opposite, justifying their cause as religous acts they are only making excuses to feed their want and need for power. When it is power that devours the human soul through the abnsence of truth.
I can truly go on forever but I will stop here and hope that what is written is understood. To love god is to love everything he has created and to honor god is to live life in the search for truth and once found, live by that truth. It will NEVER be found in a book for god is beyond that book. He is in your heart.
