Thinking for tolerance.

Wouldn't it be better by far to think before we speak ?
On several ocassions I have found that people speak out about what they have no idea whatsoever.
We have a compulsion to speak but can we spare a thought for tolerance and keep quiet instead ? Please share what you think about this ofcourse in this discussion we must speak up !

I agree that thinking before speaking would improve a lot of things. Unfortunately, there are many who seem incapable of individual thought and instead parrot the same old rhetoric that they grew up with.

Many people will never think before they speak, some do not even think before they type! I wish more people did, just the same as you can be hurt with words offline as you can online.

Re: Thinking for tolerance.

alot of people speak before thinking. whats worse is they speak from the stance of ignorance and lack of human love. human love being just love for their fellow man/woman. trying to make someone understand we are all connected and what 1 does affects all of us directly and indirectly is a best difficult.

Its a forever old saying that you should think before you speak, and yes I know that I too am guilty of not doing so at times. Much hurt in this world would be abated if more people engaged their brain before their mouth.

Re: Thinking for tolerance.

You are fully right on that one. I think for those still learning how to tolerate those who lack common sense, this would be a good tip to pass along for those who never noticed. I sometimes find myself reminding people of this by words or glares.

Re: Thinking for tolerance.

It took me sometime as a teen to remember to bite my tongue but once I did things started to change around. I still remember "if you have nothing nice to say, do not say anything at all" and always end up telling those around me the same as one day it will come in handy.
