Communications

I wonder why people think being on an online community and then not expressing issues they have, then complain about it - well thats just a good way to go? Communication is the key, isn't it?

Re: Communications

I'm really not sure where you are going with this post so it's rather hard to respond intelligently. Communication, or should I say, effective communication is the key to resolving many conflicts. Unfortunately, there are many that don't know how to communicate effectively, especially on the internet. Being a written form of communication, it becomes even easier to misunderstand. Was this anywhere in the ballpark of what you were thinking?

Re: Communications

Fred you mentioned the online community would it be like what GO has here ? You have something there.
In the sense since we are all faceless beings we may or may not speak our true minds yet we are also free to complain without much damage incurred it gets it all off our chest. That is a good thing.

Re: Communications

I'm guessing what you mean is people have issues going on with other posters, they don't say anything, and then they start complaining about stuff that's been going on for a long time?

I do strongly feel we should communicate with each other. You can tell people something is bothering you without attacking them.

Re: Communications

I think its about being online but being at many more than one site and you can see someone on one site complain about issues on the other? That or the full lack of communication really is the missing link here.

Re: Communications

I think that online communities can be a wonderful resource, but yes, one gets attached to them. When things then go wrong it becomes a point of stress.

There are additional problems from the lack of body language-you can read or take people wrong because you cannot see the humour in their eyes. So often I think that it is best to ask for clarification rather than take offence straight off.
