Essence, what do you think of people sending their elderly parents or grandparents to nursing homes? Do you think this is abandoning them, or is it meeting their needs?

I guess I asked for this one didn’t I? LOL
All of my grandparents, and my parents too have now crossed over. My maternal grandmother lived with me for about six months when I was in my early twenties. She had Alzheimer’s disease and I and my family took turns having her live with us and taking care of her until her medical needs became too much for us to be able to take care of because none of us were medical professionals. When we did finally have to have her put in a nursing home so she could have her medical needs met, at least one family member went to see her and take care of her beyond what the nursing home could do every day until she passed over to the other side. So ‘No’ I do not think putting an elderly parent, or grandparent in a nursing home to help you take care of them is abandoning them. Not as long as the family does not abandon them once they are there.

Every family has there own story and there own issues and problems and everyday life to contend with. As long as we do the best we can, no more can be asked of us.

Doing the right thing is not hard to do. I have often wondered what makes doing the right thing so difficult for so many. As humans, with very few exceptions, we all know the difference between right and wrong. Doing the right thing is not hard to do. In my experience, doing what is wrong in any given situation is usually much harder.

Once again……..just my thoughts.

Love, Light and Blessings

Namaste
