A cat, a brother in law and a nice thought of family sweetness

I have a sibling that I never grew up with, we have different mothers. I must say that the only times I remember this sister afew times before the age of 10, just afew months ago for a funeral (our father) and then she was planning to come down with her family to visit mine (we live in different states, about an 8hr drive).

She actually told me that her husband is willing to come visit and even stay at our place, even though he is allergic to our cats. We have only one inside cat, but I thought this was something pretty sweet to do. I'm not sure I could have been that nice. The sister said "its okay, if a cat comes by him, he will just shoo it away".

Any other odd stories about tolerance?

Well... we have 3 cats ourselves, and some of my relatives happen to be allergic to cats, but they still visit us once or twice every year.

They live on the other side of the country, and they still can visit us despite the allergies.

I always try to be as tolerant and fair towards others as possible, since it's what we would want.

A friend of my parents is allergic to cats (nothing serious - it just makes his asthma worse) at the time I had two cats that went in and out as they wanted (I was still living at home, and my parents live in the country). The friend came to visit, not realizing that we had cats. I kinda felt bad for him and kinda thought it was funny because the cats loved him, they wanted to rub against his legs and lay on his lap - all he did was keep shooing them away and finally we put both outside so he would be left alone. It just amazed be thou that they liked him as much as they did because both were animals who were previously in abusive homes - so they did not take to people that well - but he could not be around them and they loved him.
