Meditating

Mediating on a thought is a part of my everyday process, but I don't really meditate in the full ritual sense. A friend of mine will spend what he calls quiet time. He turns off all things that would be distracting. He'll just sits and thinks, maybe light some incense. He calls it his mindfullness hour. He says that he feels more relaxed for it in the evening. It's part of his routine.

Now, my question is, does it really matter when you meditate? Does morning meditating help you feel more relaxed then evening meditation?

Re: Meditating

I don't think that it matters WHEN you do it, but I do think that it matter that you furnish the right conditions for it. You need to be able to sit and think and contemplate nice and quietly, without that you won't achieve the right mindset.

Re: Meditating

I think this is a very individual choice. Each person will benefit most from different times. It also depends on why you meditate. If it's to relax, evenings might be best to enable a restful sleep. Some meditate and feel invigorated so morning's might be best for them.

Re: Meditating

I too believe that it is a personal thing as to when where and how a person meditates. For example, I prefer to do it outdoors in the warm sun, with the only noise being the birds chirping. It brings me such an intense feeling of peace.

Re: Meditating

Meditate on the thought of love and flowers will bloom in the garden of ones mind..

Meditate on well being and people will sense the goodeness that emerges from ones heart.

Meditate on the rightous way and one will never go astray.

Meditate on the self and realize that without the creator , self is not created.

Meditate on life and it will share it's mysterious.

Meditate on what is not seen and one will see it.

And so on.

Do the opposite and it will bring negative results.
As long as the mind empowers the soul of life, throught positive means, so will the spirit be bathed in the light more beautiful than beauty can define.

Bless us all, who seek the great light of wisdom.

Re: Meditating

I can not say that I mediate daily but I do try when I can. Some days are just off days and I can not fully relax.

Re: Meditating

Meditating means....to think upon. So it is actually refocusing our thoughts.

With this in mind, a simple visualization of a place of peace can keep us centered in peace. Our mind is a wondrous place for focusing in body and spirit as well.

God bless,J
