Space a poem
This is a poem I wrote back in 1998. I just wanted to share it with everyone here, in the hopes that it would brighten your journey.
If I've posted it at the wrong place, I apologize, I wasn't sure were to put it.
Light, Love and Blessings,
Namaste,
Essence
Space
Hopes and Dreams,
Dreams of faith
Dreams of promise
Dreams of lakes
From Eye of Mind
From realms beyond
The promise of life
Of Star’s and Song’s
Patterns of Music
Patterns life
Patterns of Space
Of dark and light
Eternal Opposite
Back and Forth
Eternal Harmony
Life blood poured forth
The Swirling, the Spiral
The Song, the Dance
The Rhythm, the Cadence
The Hope, the Chance
So much, yet Nothing
No boundaries can hold
Our Vision, Our Future
Humankind is coming home
Essence
1998

Re: Space a poem
Essence, that is a beautiful poem. I especially love the ending, about Homecoming. Have you written much other poetry? What inspired this work?

Re: Space a poem
Thank you so very much. I'm ecstatic you enjoyed it. It makes me feel wonderful in every cell of my being to be able to share the joy that poem creates in me with someone else. Thank you for that gift.
Yes, I have written many others. I have been writing poetry since I was a young teenager in the early '70's.
The inspiration for that particular poem came immediately after reading the preface to Ken Carey's book, The Third Millennium many years ago.
Once again, Thank you.
Love, Light and Blessings,
Namaste,
Essence

Re: Space a poem
Hi Essence,
What a beautiful poem and what a wonderful gift, especially at such an early age to be able to express what is deep inside on to paper so eloquently.
I wonder if you have ever seen or heard of the child prodigy, artist and poet whose name is Akiane. If you have not, you must check her website out..
www.artakiane.com... you will be blown away at the insight and tremendous talent this girl has and has had since a very early age.
It was really nice to read and "feel" your heart felt reaction to Rhythm's comments.
It reminded me of something I just read last night... how the "essence" of who we are is overjoyed when it is recognized by the same "essence" in someone else.
Have a great day,
James

Re: Space a poem
Exquisite expression. Thank you so very much. The music still sounds in my ears. Poetry transcends the written word when it is able to connect others to the essence of the experience, you have a wonderful gift to be able to do that.

Re: Space a poem
Awesome poem, I agree with the rest the ending is the best part. What did you mean by "Life blood poured forth"? It's interesting how you phrase that part.

Re: Space a poem
Anahi
Thank you so much for your response to the poem. I will say it is one of my favorites. Also I must admit when I write poetry, I really feel all I am actually doing is transcribing what I feel and hear, so a part of me doesn’t feel comfortable taking credit for it; but I guess that is my issue…..LOL
To me the line, “Life blood poured forth” is talking about the energy that Great Spirit gives of itself to create our Universe and all which exists in it.
But…that is what it means to me. My feelings about poetry are that it should speak to the reader and could therefore mean something entirely different to someone else.
I’m curious, what did you get from those words and the poem as a whole?
Love, Light and Blessings
Namaste

Re: Space a poem
Your poem does seem to almost summarise what the Oneness movement is all about. You have put it beautifully. Thank you for sharing that with us Essence.
I am interested in the 'Dreams of lakes' its as if there are so many dreams in our lives we could fill up entire lakes and then some. In a way this is what we do all our lives,we are dreaming almost every moment of the day.
What do you think ?

Re: Space a poem
Essence, you have written a beautiful poem. Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us. I love reading poetry, especially when the poet is so talented at expressing their thoughts through the lyrical work. James mentionesd Akiane... I also very much enjoy her work. I bought her book for my mother for her birthday, she was thrilled. Maybe someday I'll be buying an Essence book.

Robin,
Thank you so much for your response to the poem. I’m really glad you liked it. I like what you shared about the “Dreams of lakes”. And yes, in a very real, (or should I say surreal) way…LOL I think what you said about ‘dreaming almost every moment of the day’ is very true.
When I wrote (transcribed) the poem, an image of a lake nestled high in the mountains between snowy peaks; very clear, very blue and sparkling in the sun appeared in my mind; and does to this day every time I read the poem. For me, it’s a place I know; an area that played a large part for me in a past life. You know how sometimes you just know something? You don’t really know how you KNOW it, but you know you know it? Well, it is that sort of thing.
I really do want to thank you for sharing with me what you got from the poem. I find it fascinating how it can mean so many things to different people.
Love, Light and Blessings,
Namaste

Skylar,
You are very kind and thank you for your appreciative words. I too hope one day soon you will be able to “be buying an Essence book”…..although I am currently working on a novel. Maybe when I finish it, I can work on putting together a poetry book. I have thought about it. Thank you so very much for the encouragement…I greatly appreciate it.
Love, Light and Blessings,

And James,
Thank you for sharing that site. I had not ever heard of her and I loved all her work. What a gift she is and has.
