Out of body while meditating

I remember a time when I was in college and I was taking a class that dealt with meditation and relaxation. During the start of each class, the professor guided the entire class through 15-20 minutes of meditation. Then we were supposed to voluntarily share any experiences we had. One time during a session, I felt like I had an out of body experience. What I experienced was lightness in my soul and it being lifted up while my body remained my chair. It was one of the greatest events I have ever experienced.

Such a joy! Immediately after your experience, did you find you had a creative burst, clarity of understanding or a realization? Have you, or anyone you know, tried projecting your energy to another?

I really do not know how to explain the feeling I had after I came out of my meditative state. I remember a deep awareness of what was going on around me while I was meditating. I wanted it to continue but unfortunately, it was time for the instructor to resume class. I immediately shared it what had happened with a classmate but that was about it. Looking back on, that was one of the most profound moments in my life.

Would it count if you are trying to astral project? If thats the case I kind of has the same feeling you are describing with the lifting part of it all.

Astral projection, out of body experience, energy, soul...are we not perhaps talking about the same thing with differing labels? The headline "Sneak-Peek of Global Oneness Community" made me LOL oh so gleefully. It has been my experience that when I was able to access my inner joy(during meditation), in the same breath, I wished to share it. When the opportunity presented itself to share it with someone....awesome experience...indeed a sneak-peek of global oneness.

I never really experienced such a wonderful feeling whenever I was into meditation but I have heard about it from my aunt and mom before. I wish I experience it to know how it exactly feels like.

After having experienced it, I wish everyone could feel what it is like. However, when I focus on trying to have another experience, it does not happen. When it happened to me the first time, it was just a wonderful experience and a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, I am now so inconsistent with my meditating that I'm not sure I'll be able to experience it again.

I find it helpful to engage my imagination while meditating by recreating an environment and then flowing into the experience of it. A favorite of mine is going Cretan. There was a ceremony performed in the ancient Agean caves, after a few days of preparation, the individual was brought into the dark caves and continued walking(feel the damp coolness on your skin, the stirring wisp of air, the sound of your bear feet on the cold stone) in total darkness until they beheld a point of light. Keep moving towards the light. You become one with all.

Hello All!

I would like to share my experience with you..
It was when i was 17 when i first experienced OBE (out of body experience)
i was not keeping well & was having high fever,

All of sudden everything started fading & everything became BLACK & WHITE...
all objects appeared as if they are in a 3D movie!..

Then, later i saw all my ancestors coming in & calling me!
one of them took my hand & WHOSSHH!!! i was out of my body!! i could see my body lying down.. in my house.. then my house.. in my city.. then my country.. then the world.. i was in SPACE!

i then went to some other planet as if i was space traveling & i was floating all the time like an astronaut...i crossed MARS & then I landed up at some place.. i hear two voices there.
one said "here... he is a new comer...."
Other said " his time has not yet come!!"

& then i simply came back in my body at more then 100 times the speed of light! as i landed in my body then when i woke up the fever was gone!!

i was HEALED!

when i told this to one of the DASAji's (MONKS) at Oneness, they told me that it was a near death experience & that i was actually landed up at SATYALOKA!

after that incident i have many times practiced astral traveling..
& yes!! it is indeed an extra ordinary experience!!
