Hi!

I guess many of you have seen the movie "The Secret - Law of Attraction"...I have...and I thought and still think its a great movie!

It would be great to hear your comment about the movie and the ideas behind it! (Personally I don't think the concept of "The Law of Attraction" is even remotely new or have ever been a secret...!!)

Hi "Everyone"
Having heard about the secret a while back I have to say I didn't really take much notice of it at the time.....So many ideas come and go that it can desensitise reactions to what seems to good to be true...Of course that can be said for many things, including religious beliefs...I keep my mind open to all ideas...The reason this one didn't hold my attention for long was it didn't seem to fit into the reality of the world as it is today....Or the way I personally view things....

Watching the video Jonas kindly gave the link to, and the only time I have listened properly to information about the secret...I struggle with some of the concepts for the ambiguous way it could be conceived.... Through thoughts we change reality........Could it be the other way round,...what we as individuals see as reality is starting to change our thoughts...... Making us see what we could possibly be guided to see.....?

Though the idea of the secret is a fantastic ideology, and seems to work for some...I have seen situations change when thought/perception changes...The main reason I struggle with the secret is it makes me realise what completely different priorities individuals can have to each other......Although I have to say earlier this year just by following instincts... I have found that many many people want above their own gain.. a safe peaceful world that's full of respect and kindness to all life..... And for me that in itself would give the world, nature, you, us, and all life....A thought worth having......whatever way round it was/is....

I have seen The Secret also, and I too believe that the ideas presented in it are not anything new, although they have been kept a secret from the populace for deliberate, selfish reasons...

It is simplistic in its approach and presentation, but that is probably because I was already very familiar with all the concepts presented in it. It can be quite fascinating for the beginner, though. I also found that it did not explain certain aspects and a lot of information was left out - again, due to its simplicity it probably wasn't within the scope of this particular movie to cover more advanced aspects.

I did watch and read some of the book but I new that my thoughts played a roll in what came into my life from experience prior too. The Secret tends to put a sort of taboo twist to the whole concept. It took an interesting self discovery and turned it into a porthole for greed and power. That turned me off big time. I was interested in the experiences of others and some outside info on thought and reality. Watching the video made me feel like it was evil. It did help me to understand a few of the questions that I had.

Although many of the ideas in the Laws Of Attraction may not be new, I still think that the film does seem to have a positive effect on certain people regardless. There has been a lot of hype about this movie, but it's difficult to say how deserving it is.

Everyone has different ideas on what is or is not possible, so why knock somebody elses opinion, just because it may not make sense to you?

Also, I still think this movie is worth viewing, especially before making assumptions about it.

Hey J Martin,

I just wanted to comment as what you stated here. I am new to this forum, but I just had to respond to this. I have a few friends that say and think the same thing. The point behind the movie is more than just thinking your way through anything. I like to look at it as an overall mental reconditioning if you will. Not quite on a positive thinking or affirmation level, but more like knowing and understanding how the law of CAUSE and EFFECT works in your life. Thoughts become things. That's been the law since the beginning of time. Look around you. Everything started with a thought, then feeling, then action, and then the end result was what you see. Buildings, cars, streets, inventions, on and on. Your current results or effects, were result of that thought (or cause). I know this is short and sweet, but watching the secret, and doing other research really made me appreciate on how powerful the mind really is. So if nothing else, just watch it to get a different viewpoint on how the world works. It might trigger something...
