Death and I, we have become firm friends. We met a four years ago and once a year since. I expect him to visit any day now. My family (of seven) has an incurable hereditary disease. We are being picked off one by one. We laugh, we smile, we joke about it. I'm trying to strike a deal with him - make it a fast one. And I pray to God /the Universe - let there be no life in any form after death for me. I have really appreciated the time I've spent here on earth. It is so incredibly beautiful. Life is so amazing, it never fails to astound me. I have been so lucky in life, realised most of my dreams, blessed with love. Really, there is no need for further life for me. I'm good.
Hi Narnia,
As one who volunteers with hospice patients and as one who is studying the
ways of the Shaman and as one who has tasted death in his dreams, let me just say
that death is our friend as you say for it teaches us about life as you obviously
have learned, but we die and are born again constantly even in this body, it is the way
we move on.
If you don’t mind me asking, why would you state that you no longer wish to live?
James
James, what I can't understand is why you (and most other people) want to live? From what we all believe in life gets pretty good after death - why are we all still here? The author Ben Okri has a beautiful beginning to one of his books - The Famished Rood - something about how spirit children hate/dread being born, meaning we do not look forward to our time on earth.
Hi Narnia (I loved the movie by the way)
“Now” is all there is. There is nothing other than now. To be and wish for something other than what is, is my definition of not living. Death does not promise anything different than what is and in fact it can’t, because then you would be changed into something you are not. Who would want that?

Well yeah, it is therewithin lies my problem. I am one who is forever impatiently waiting for the future to happen. You know how they say most people live in the past, some live in the future and very few live in the moment - I am the "future" one.
Sweet angel! All that is is wonderful! And all that will be is also wonderful! And let all that bring bounties of love and joy to you! My sincere prayer to beloved God is to bless each moment of your life with the most wonderful blessing of love and to make you live in the present, dear one, so that joy fills and floods your life here and hereafter!
Lots and lots of love and blessings flowing to you, dear angel!
