Lots of love to you all! We all are eager to reach and reaalize God! But at the same time, most of us have accepted our responsibility to help others to raise their level of consciousness. Thanks a lot to all such benevolent blessed beings!
While talking about and trying to shed light on God (though to shed light on the Supreme Effulgence of Grace seems highly paradoxical, of course!), we usually come across the concept of evil and Satan. Please discuss it so as to help others and ourselves realise God and His subtle presence much more clearly!
I saw that people with some clarity also have been indulging in discussions of Satan as a presence that might take birth and try to rule this world "in person". For me, Satan is nothing but the impact of the absence of the positive presence called God. Satan is never a presence, it is the absence of the Divine in life. That is very much evident in life these days. It is already there and luring mankind in several ways! So who ever feels that Satan will take birth one day is grossly misled.
Darkness has no existence, it is the absence of light. Bring in light and the apparition of darkness vanishes! What can come is only light, in many ways as that only is what is!
Lots of love and blessings to all!

The trivia about the Roman numerals is interesting-I haven't heard that before.
I feel that Satan is more than the absence of God or a positive force. I think that Satan is a true opposing force-a negative being who is out to rule this world in a negative fashion.
I have no understanding of 'Satan" or 'evil'. I also don't understand why people give power to it, when the outcome can only ever be negative. It can not exist where there is light. It disappears, once exposed. 'Though I walk in the valley of death, I will fear no evil'... Brave words?!
Love and peace, M*

In fact, by starting this thread, I would like beloved ones to have a better idea or awareness regarding negative and positive aspects in one's own life.
A way of looking at negativities as the projections of an evil force and always considering oneself as stayin away from eveil by belonging to any religion or simply by taking God's name or chanting mantras or hymns, onee is really befooling onenself. The moment one places all sources of negativities in an entity called Satan or demon, we are falsely freeing us from the responsibility of looking at our true nature that is a mixture of both good and bad.
Once we understand this fact that we are a blend of good and bad, we cannot easily wash our hands simply by saying that I am with God and not with Satan. Satan or evil has actually been conceived in various religions to make one aware of the evil in himself. Not to pretend an escapist stance by attributing all negativities to some entity outside us. To accept the undesirable in us as part of us and to sbmit all that along with the desirable and holy in us at the feet of the Lord is what we have to do in right earnest to climb the higher pedestals of spirituality.
Religions had a way of placing things in front of us; a way that suited those times and the sensibilities of those times. Today, we have to accept ourselves in the true sense. And in the true sense we have to ask the Lord to lift us above the negativities and install the sacred and holy aspects in us!
I raised the question to make clear that simply by covering a lot of rubbish with a fine cloth, you cannot get rid of it. True awareness is required to achieve that. I feel, this is one of the reasons why people who stand up for faiths fight between themselves. They have a false feeling that the enemy is outside whereas the true enemy is within. What I speak of may be very disturbing to some, but I accept that I am a heap of rubbish and a handful of aspects that bring divine Grace to me.
And the latter handful is so powerful that the rubbish has started to dwindle gradually. Everytime when the negativity raises its head, the divine shows it clearly to me, and guides me to avoid it. And I am really thankful to the beloved God that its attacks have become less frequent as well as less aggressive these days! I am very thankful to beloved Bhagavan for helping and guiding me to face and accept my own darker side as well for lifting me above much of the undesirable elements in my self!
Lots and lots of love to one and all!

When you look at the concept of Satan and take a step back, he really isn't real after all. All he is is just a concept of dark feelings and emotions, generated by all living beings. Such as anger, jealousy, hatred, selfishness, dark ambitions, sadness, and dark forcements(like forcing others to believe).
Satan is a combination of many Gods who where combined by the Catholic Church years ago. Him being the angel of light, was a God called Apollo or Sol to the Romans, Helios to the Greeks, Lucifer to the Assyrians, Ra to the Egyptians, Lugh to the Celts, Horus and Aten in Egypt, one of his oldest names is Bel meaning bright or brilliant, or Belanos meaning Sun to the Celts, and Balor meaning Flaming Eye(The Sun that rises). As the God of Hell he is known as the God Hades(the God who is neutral in feelings), to the Norse (Germany) he is the God of Hel with one L which is also the Underworld. With the horns on his head he called Pan the goat God to the Greeks who is the son of Zeus, Cernunnos some call him Hernes the Hunter to the Celts how he is the representation of man hunting for wild food. He is just the God of Nature that's all he is.
Including the Grim Reaper who is also known as the God Time known as Kronus father of Zeus the God of Storms and King of the Gods some spell his name Cronos meaning time, the one who devours all and withers them to old age.

Hi,
Did you ever notice the NUMBER OF THE BEAST in Roman Numerals ?
666=DCLXVI
This is exactly the first 6 Roman numerals in descending order.
Ah that's an easy one. That's the number that was found on a statue in a museum by Aleister Crowley was an item number 666 was labeled The Beast. Aleister Crowley went around calling himself The Great Beast, because he thought of himself and mankind as we are the beasts of the Earth. He also viewed himself of being sexy. That took place in England in 1923 when he was being deported from England. That was a scandal being called "The Wickedest Man in the World." According to this book I am reading by Raymond Buckland
who is an Enlgish Scholar.
I never understood the concept of Satan as the god of nature. God (assuming one believes in a literal God) created nature and made it orderly as God is orderly. Nature is very orderly - only man is disorderly and illogical. Animals in nature are not evil whatsoever but man can be very evil.
If you believe in a literal God, then you must logically believe in a literal anti-God or Satan. If you believe that God is in us all, therefore must Satan be in us all.

I am one for positive and negative. I have never fully came out to say God or Satan as it to me is the same as many other things in life. You have + and - but the choice you do with each is up to you.
