I'd like to know what you think of this article. I am new to this, and admired Michael Beckwith, but find this very disturbing:

Ethics anyone? Pay-Per-View church from star of The Secret, Rev. “Dr.� Michael Beckwith

It questions the ethics of his new thing, pay per view church.

And says he is not really a Dr., though he calls himself Dr. Beckwith. That's pretty serious.

Suggests he's quite a shyster.

It’s hard to say if it is legit without being judgmental but if you think it is something to stay away from, I would stay away from it and then just forget about it.

I just read the entire article. I think it is quite ethical. It doesn't involve anyone trying to 'sell' you their religion. You don't have to pay the fee unless you want to watch...and if you learn something, or experience something worthwhile, then the fee is hardly even a consideration. What does one gain from a Number ONe at Wendy's for the same price? Other than a full stomach.
And...if you then decide, What a Rip...consider yourself ripped for six bucks and be done with it.

I have never commented on any of The Secret /Law of Attraction threads before and I have not read the postings through either - so forgive me if I am raising points already debated before. I read The Secret a couple of years ago and I still can't make up my mind whether I believe in it or not. I believe to some extent, but can also see -what I consider - flaws in it.


My reservation is when it involves other people - if your demand of the Universe conflicts with someone else's free will, I can't see how it can work. And unfortunately most of our desires involve others.

Also when you put your wish out there, you have to really desire what you're asking for and have the power of your subconscious behind it or else it won't work. The deepest level of your subconscious is actually your Soul - and your Soul needs NOTHING; at least nothing that you (the Ego) will be deeming important like a house, car, fantastic job. So It will generally not be supporting your desires unless it is in line with your Soul's plan for your/its current life-time and experiences - stuff It has plan for you, in other words, things in line with your destiny ! Which you cannot control!

What do you make of that?

Hi Narnia,
Great post and one that contains thoughts I use to relate to very well!
First of all, let me say that I feel the whole secret thing has been blown out of proportion.
Just like every other truth that is new to our understanding as a whole. Still it is good that it is out there.
The problem is, the Universal truth that the “secret” is meant to teach does involve other people. Everything we do involves other people. We are universally “always” connected to other people. We are “one”
Take something away and it ALL changes, as is very apparent in nature.
So I say, if we have the power to attract what you want and what we want could affect everyone else then we should see from that the importance of coming to the awareness of our true selves so that what we want always includes the overall good of all.
In my mind and heart, the deepest level of our being wants to “love” and to “be loved”
From the place I exist from and in, everything I want and attract, thankfully, affects everyone else!
That is what co-creating is all about!
By the way, here is a link I posted a while ago to a free on-line book/teaching on what the real secret was meant to be about.
