What are you personally doing to increase awareness in your communities?

We all are doing our part in our homes to try to reduce our footprint on the planet and that's a wonderful thing. Do you also feel a responsibility or obligation to increase the awareness of others or do you feel you are only responsible for yourself?

Re: What are you personally doing to increase awareness in your communities?

I think you should be responsible for yourself first and foremost, and if thats all you can handle then don't worry about the rest. Meanwhile if you're doing well yourself, at least make a small contribution. I don't think everyone should feel obligated to make a big change the world. I feel obligated to do something big, because I know I am capable of it, but others may feel that they are working hard enough just trying to keep their own lives in check. So, depends on what the individual can handle.

I think first we are ourselves responsible and later we can surely tend to increase the awareness of others.

Re: What are you personally doing to increase awareness in your communities?

I try to do my own part first.

I also try to share my understanding of the environment with others when they are open to the idea. I have co-workers that are anti-environmentalist, so talking to them would not help. I am always ready to share with those that are willing to hear.
