FreeCycle

freecycle.org is a website that sustains a community sharing a great idea: trading goods among them. People involved in freecycle post announcements that sound like 'i have some furniture in a great state which i dont need anymore. anybody interested, mail me'. And he/she gives it away for free, instead of dumping it somewhere. I say join it, I know I have.

Re: FreeCycle

I'm really glad some other areas have freecycle. I am located in southern PA ( like 10 min from MD) and we have two freecycles that can be accessed in this area (one in PA and one in MD). I know that I have used it alot to get rid of unneeded items and I have been telling everyone I know about this. I think that this is a great service both to local communities and to the earth.

Re: FreeCycle

Sounds great to me, having a look at the website. I would be glad to find some articles in this way and even provide some articles which I no longer need it or never used it.

Re: FreeCycle

I use FreeCycle myself and I have gotten a few things and given a few things. It helps to prevent additions to landfills by giving our unnecessary items to other who need or could use them. My wife uses it to find art supplies for the childcare company she works for.

Re: FreeCycle

This is a great option in most areas. The freecycle.org page should be able to help you find the closest site to your area and there is information on how to organize one if there isn't. I love things like this as I would rather give stuff to people who really need it then to sell it at a yard sale or worse, put it in the trash.

Re: FreeCycle

I find freecycle to be a huge headache to try and navigate. Its just set up in a way my brain doesn't like to try and process. After I finally struggle through and find something I want its usually long gone. I love the idea but the implementation is a bit lacking for common usage by the majority of people.
