My dream of a screaching owl.

I need help interpreting my dream. Or rather, I'm hopeing for someone to disagree with what I think it meant.

About 3 weeks ago, I dreamt I was walking down a dark path, possibly through a forest although the details were a little blurry. I could see my feet and knew that someone was walking with me, but couldn't tell who. As we were walking by a rather large tree, I heard a shreik and a large (but blurred) bird swooped down and past our feet and flew off. I remeber asking the person that was with me what it was and they told me it was an owl. That was it. I woke up.

I didn't even recall the dream until a couple of days later while my son was watching a cartoon movie that happened to have an owl in it. Then I proceded to do some research about dreams of owls and learned that it can mean an end to health or that someone could die. Seriously, my mother is in the hospital now with a disease that most definitely causes death. This dream has sort of haunted me. I have always kept an open mind because of my profession but also because my mother sort of raised me that way, to believe that there is more out there, so to speak.

I think this was a premonition that she is going to die. Maybe that's just me reading the signs wrong. But what I am getting from the dream is "walking through the valley of death" and the owl meaning.

I'm hopeing someone can tell me differently. Thanks!

There are alternative interpretations. Some would have owls as warning of the approach of a deceitful person, or as an end or recovery from serious illness. Do not fear so much about your mother unless you have had other signs too.

I will definitely tell you this is not how I would interpret this dream. it is not so much about your mother being ill (AND I WISH FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART THAT your mother gets better) So to really get the whole meaning of a dream every detail must be taken in to an account. And in your case (possible forest, a large tree, someone walking with you, seeing your feet, hearing a swooping of a owl) all these things when put together will give you a dreams meaning, as they are all related. So when you just looked at a meaning of an owl, UNLESS you have done so with the other details, then YOU MUSTN'T COME TO A conclusion as to it is a bad news because of your mother. So having said that; I believe you will come to feel a new experience which will involve someone of great wisdom, also from this person you will learn much, also there will be a travel of some sort on your part. An owl represent a timid thief with no friends or helpers.

I can say with 100% confidence that this dream is unrelated to your mother being ill. Hope she gets well soon but this dream is not a sign of her well being. so dont worry too much.

This dream is telling you someone will try and rob of you of something, probably someone with a loud/respected personality (the tree).

I wouldn't think it means your mom would die either. It does seem to relate surprise and stealth though with the sudden swooping and not knowing who is with you.
