A Beautiful Experience

First I'd like to say to everyone thank you so much for accepting me into your group and I can tell by reading some of the other members postings that I could simply miss work tomorrow just to read the different threads.

I would like to say that what I'm about to disclose is a story about a beautiful person I know. Shes my mother and I'm her son. My mother is a very religious person and for as long as I've been on this earth I've never ever heard her speak a bad word or curse word should I say.

My mother shared with me an experience she had months ago that somehow still has a profound effect on me. I guess the best way to explain it would be liken to that of a powerful church sermon.

One night while my mother was sleeping she woke up to a bright light coming from the northwest corner of her bedroom. I think mom said it was the light that woke her. She said that when she turnover to see what it was she was amazed. It was though she was looking at a beautiful picture of a forest. She said that it was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. It started misting rain and the rain was simply glistening and sparking. The trees we so green and beautiful. My mother said she turned away from the sight at first but then she turned back to look and it was still there just as beautiful as it was before only this time the mist turned into rain and she remembered looking up and seeing the drops of rain falling and not only could she see this but she could hear the rain drops hitting. Slowly the picture of the forest started to fade behind the curtain of heavy rain until it was completely gone.

I'd like to say this was a time in Mississippi,(summertime) that we were having a drought. We hadn't had rain for so long. Whether or not this had anything to do with it raining the next day wouldn't be for me to say and neither did my mother. This was one of two experiences that my mother had.

The other vision mom had was of a person's hand. My mother witness looking at not in a dream but just as she had seen the green forest was the hand of my deceased father whom we loved very much. She told me she knew it was my father's hand waving beyond any doubt. His hand was so detailed until she could see the pores in his skin. She said that his hand seemed flawless and the only other thing she could see was the end ruffles of a white robe that was almost blinding to the eyes. My father has been deceased now for about 2 years. The dream mom had was weeks after his death. My mom and dad was married for over 50 years and never separated. There we trying times just as there are in any married and their married wasn't perfect but they had been together almost since their teenage years.

Could someone please explain to me what my mother experienced? I do know when she told me about this I couldn't stop thinking about it. And right now it's been almost a week since she told me. Personally I feel that is was a divine sign to her that my father was alright and this was some kind of assurance. But I could also be way off track, I don't know. I can say that my mother is about 70 year old and she told me that since shes been on this earth she has never witnessed anything like this before.

What would have after all these year allowed her to witness something of this magnitude? Thank you for any help anyone can give me. I'm really and truly curious. I also like to add I'm beginning to read my bible more.

I have had some types of dreams similar to this but they are always a little hard for me to figure out, esp. those from years ago I still remember when I had to take sleeping pills (from doctor) to actually get any sleep. It sounds though as your mom had a pleasant dream.

Thank you Tomkin for the kind words of wisdom. But I'd like to say that my mother was in the waking state when these visions occurred. Right after she had them she immediately went to sleep as though she was drained. I recall reading about Edgar Cayce, the prohet years ago an it told about how Mr. Cayce would give medical readings of his patients and afterwards he would be totally drained almost to the point of being critically ill. I somewhat see my mother's experience as being simular. I personally feel that my mother was in a trance like state just as Mr. Cayce was. I remember my mother telling me that the feeling was hard to explain. In the sense that she didn't have complete control over what was happening at the time.

This is very interesting visions.

I myself have experianced 'dreams' where i was not fully asleep, and it was hard to differentiate dream from reality. However i would still classify them as dreams.

Rain symbolises assistance and blessings, if the rain confined to a particular place (ie house/building) it has opposite meaning. your mother seen the rain in the forest which point towards the first statement about assistance and blesssings. Seeing a bright light could also be an angel, as angels are made from light, how man is made from clay, and satan is made from fire.

The other vision is crystal clear in my mind. If you see a deceased person in your dream, you are actually seeing that person, If they are well and dressed in white/green it means they are happy in the after life.

Anything said by a deceased person will be true to its word. as dead people dwell in a life of truthfullness as oppsed to our world of falsehood.

My brother and my mother seen my grandfather numerous times in dreams, each time he was dressed in brilliant white. one of the dreams he was unhappy with my marraige (before i got married), 6 months later i got divorced!! lol. My grandfather devoted ALL his time, literally, to god.

I am a muslim and islam goes into alot of detail concerning dreams. Islam also says you dont have to be muslim to go to heaven, as long as you believe in the one god, do not wrong people and sincerely repent your sins you will goto heaven.

Your mothers vision of your father is a well known vision amongst our people of his state in the after life. He is doing very well, lets hope we can follow in his footsteps.
