Red face I had a very odd dream this morning

I decided to take a nap after I put my kids on the school bus this morning. Wouldn't you know I'd have to go and have a strange and peculiar dream while napping. I dreamed my hubby and I had went for as visit to his uncles house in Arkansas. Everything seemed to be going ok at first. The next thing I knew I was in their bathroom and discovered one of my front teeth was loose. I pulled on it and it came out but didn't bleed at all. But, it wasn't anything like a normal tooth, it was huge like a tiger's tooth. Then I felt of the tooth that was right beside it and it was loose too. So, of course I pull that one too and it was also huge and my gums were bleeding terribly. The last thing I remember is my hubby's aunt walking in the bathroom and there I stand holding these two gigantic teeth and trying to tell her they'd come out of MY mouth. I cannot imagine why I dreamed this. I mentioned it to my hubby and he said he always heard that if you dream of loosing teeth you are going to lose a friend. My mother said she had always heard that it means there's going to be a death. I just lost my MIL last week and I don't think I can stand another death right now. I just hope these are ole wives tales and that my dream was totally meaningless. Does anyone have any ideas about why I may have dreamed this?

My inclination is to say it's symbolic of changes in your family right now. Sending your children back to school, they are growing up. As children grow, they lose their baby teeth... maybe that is the connection I'm pulling at?

That would seem to make sense but for the fact that they were such oversized, and none human teeth. That seems to take away from it any significance of death or loss of a friend.

Not to be mundane but it is possible that the dream doesn't mean anything. I only say this because I have always had very odd or bizarre dreams when I sleep during the day. I don't know why that is but it almost always happens.

Most likely it doesn't mean anything at all. It just sort of blew my mind because of those monstrous teeth! LOL I rarely take naps during the day so it was just very odd that I had that dream on the one day I decide to.

Yes, daytime dreaming is always unusual because of the brevity of the sleep-it tends to mean that you are waking up far closer to the dream-it hasn't finished and so you remember details that you otherwise wouldn't.
