Recurring dream....could use some interpretation!

I have been having a recurring dream of my youngest son drowning. I am scared to death, in my conscience state, of water above my head. In my dream I do not jump in to save him. I see his body go weak and start to go under water and just as I start to lose sight of him someone else always jumps in to save him. I do not scream or make any noises while he is drowning...I just watch quietly. What does this one mean???

Could this be a past life issue that you have yet to resolve in this one? Perhaps looking into why you are so afraid of water above your head may give you some clues as to the dream's significance, and whether it may concern an unresolved issue.

Thumbs up Re: Recurring dream....could use some interpretation!

This dream is really very simple. Don't worry, you are not a murdering, phsychotic feind!! (I can see the panic in your post!)
It really depends on your sons age, and your significant others role in your life, as well as outside support.
I would say that wither you are a single mother, overwhelmed and overburdened, and harboring thoughts that terrify you of wanting to do harm to your child subconsciousely because you are overwhelmed, which you must understand is absolutely not possible given the fact that the dream concerns you so much you are seeking out to the world for an explanation oif this dream.
Water is a mutable form, therefore it mutes reality, clouds it, or thins it out, dilutes reality.
You are overburdened and overworked, and over mothering. If your son is young, get him involved with other activities, other people and positive activities that will streangthen him as an adult.
The real crux of this dream is motherly guilt, something that we women punish ourselves with far more than the paternalistic society we are forced to live in does.
The guilt that you are feeling as "Drowning in water over your head", is clearly feeling overwhelmed by your situation.

The fact that in your dream you "See him drowning, yet do nothing", shows a paralysis, a fear, a helplessness that you are currently feeling. THis can stem from a child simply growing up, and a mothers natural protective feelings towards that child to do only good, and to protect from harm. SOmetimes as mothers we have no choice but to let our children go, and experience life.
When that happens, others will come into their lives as influences, sometimes good and sometimes bad.

There is a very happy ending to your dream, which you did not recognise as positive, but it was quite clear to me. Your son constantly being rescued by others. It shows a prophetic situation in which you can rest easy, that through your childs life, he will always have assistance, when you yourself cannot help him.

Relax, all is fine, your feelings are natural and normal, and if you wish you may email me.

goodbye and good luck.
