How important

How important are they really? I see some areas here that people worry too much about then, others say to just forget what you dont remember so what is the answer? Are they or are they not really that important?

Re: How important

Dreams give us symbols to resolve our emotions from our conscious state. It is a way of receiving answers to life's situations when we can get our ego out of the way.

Re: How important

I believe that most dreams are simply our subconscious working through our tensions and stresses of our lives but occasionally, I think some dreams have a deeper meaning. Those are the ones that stick in your mind and you can't forget. They can be prophetic at times, such as premonitions or warnings.

Re: How important

I think dreams are important for many reasons. Like Serenity, I think some dreams do have a more meaningful touch to them while others are simply our brain releasing energy.
In my experience, I can tell when a dream is my mind trying to work through something that has been subconsciously bothering me. Sometimes I am able to realize a better solution to an issue I'm having when I work it out in a dream.
And other times, my dreams are so mundane or seem like such an average event that I feel it's just my brain letting off some steam.

Re: How important

I have varying thoughts on dreams. On one hand I feel like the dreams that you remember are those that are a message of some kind. Maybe it's a worry you've had that your subconscious is trying to help you work through. Or something your subconscious is trying to warn or make you aware of. The dreams you do not remember may be future events in your life that you'll suddenly know what you need to do to resolve the situation or where to continue the journey. Whatever your feelings on dreams, they are real, they do occur, and your mind is working in your sleep. Whether you want to believe it or not.

Re: How important

I ended up having a dream this past week where those around me (family and friends) thought my apendice was going to rupture, so in the dream they took me to the doctors, who put me in a "new type of" MRI screening, they went to tilt me back for the start of the test (no idea how MRI and apendice go together mind you), the "new chair" deal broke, I fell off a pedastol type lift, and my spine was broke in half.

Now is this just my mind going wacky on me, or what? I have had back issues in the past, and nothing in the past month or two have been bad enough for me to see a doctor (I know whts wrong and its going to be this way the rest of my life). So is my back going to break soon, my apendice rupture or is my mind wonky?

Re: How important

It sounds to me like you are working through fears of having something sudden and urgent (like an appendix needing surgery), and the worry about the long term, life altering, prognosis of living with back pain.

To the original question, I agree with most the other posters. Dreams are for the most part just your subconscious mind working out things, but occasionally you have a powerful and important one.

Re: How important

The appendix is an organ we are born with but can live without. That is why many people have to have it removed.

MRI is a screening device to find the problems within the body.

Falling and breaking the back are accidents that cause pain and suffering.

It would seem that an issue of little importance to the whole is about to burst. Perhaps you are sweating the small stuff and taking on someone else's responsibilities?

Screening and scanning of the issue will find it is not about you and for you to be involved with in any way. Falling and hurting yourself is telling you to stay away from any screening and release the issue.

Dreams are about our own unresolved emotions from waking life. They are symbols to help us understand our own emotions. Dream interpretation is best done by the dreamer - but some ideas can be offered by others. Take what helps - leave the rest.
