I had a very vivid dream early this morning. I was in a building and I was shown a door to a room. When I opened the door, my husband was sitting in a seat along with 12 other men. They were all wearing white shirts and all holding 12 white burning candles. The room appeared to have glass walls that you could see through. They all looked at me and smiled. They were sitting in a circle with no space in between.
My initial reaction was concern and anger that he had made a deal with these people. But in my dream a voice told me not to be afraid.
I awoke. We have been going through tough times in our marriage. He says that he belives in God he constantly challenges me. I constantly pray for guidance, wisdom and strenght about all of our issues. From a Christian perspective I could see that 12 might represent the last supper but it could also represent spiritual awakening. I do believe that nothing short of a miracle would ever get him to turn around.
Wisdom, guidance and thought are greatly appreciated.
Hello Calives,
I just wanted to share with you that I have been married for 29 years now and I have visited, studied and searched most every religion known to man. I too felt that my wife was fighting me the whole way. But in retrospect, we both emerged from it changed, me a little more grounded and her a little more in the clouds. I look back and know that my problems with her were exactly that, MY problems. Things I had to deal with and things I had to learn. We made it and we have a beautiful marriage now. We don't necessarily share the same views, but neither does everyone on this forum. We do however, know how to respect each others views and support each other as each of us grows in our own time. I wish your marriage all the best!
James

I am a little curious-you say that it was your husband plus twelve, so do you see that as being your husband plus twelve, or as thirteen total? Twelve plus one stands more as a representation of the Lord's last meal, but where do the candles come into that?

Thank you for your response. All of the men were sitting in chairs and holding white flickering candles in their hands. The candles were tapered and about 12" long. I believe that there were 12 men plus my husband. Also, they were in a room with crystal or clear glass walls and you could see through them but it looked like the sky rather than inside of a building. I had the distinct feeling that the 12 men were part of a group and my husband was going to join them. They were all sitting on chairs.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!

So did it feel at all repressive-as though he had cornered you and was pressuring you into doing something that you didn't want to do? Do you have problems currently with him taking control of your life?
Its a bit confusing for me, as i get contradictory interpretations from islamic teachings. And I am no expert on dreams.
Opening a door into a room - means that your prayers will be answered. Unless ofcourse the door is broken or comes of its hinges, etc.
A circle means piety, but also the tightness of it may mean your exclusion from him. As you can get into his circle. The fire and glass represent fragility possibly. i.e. glass house.
Posibbly your marriage unfortunately might be precarious, but opening doors means some sort of release, escape from trouble.

Thank you for the question. No, I did not feel repressed I think I was angry because he was making a decision about himself without consideration of the impact to our family. It was like we did not exist.
If I think about him taking control of my life, I guess from a familial respect, he ultimately controls our life.
Thank you for the insite and have a wonderful day.

Thank you for your insite. I will ponder upon this.
I think that it is not a bad thing, him controlling your life, if you are happy with that. Many families now and throughout history have had patriarchal headship, and in fact it is only in recent years that it has been less common. So if there is no discomfort for you in how he conducts your family, are there problems with a choice he is currently making?
I'm a bit late to the conversation, but I wonder if it doesn't stem from your wish for him to join you in your faith; him being a part of the circle, and it representing the last supper and all that. I agree that opening a door in a dream represents an answer to a hope or a new beginning.
