I had a dream the other night that I was in a web. I was talking to people I know from the web, and I wasn't frightened or worried. In fact, I felt at home in the web, and I was fixing it up; I think perhaps I was the spider. What do you think this means?

Do you think it's possible that you were being shown how we are all connected? How you are connected to all other spiritual beings? You said you felt at home in the web......??

The spider has come into my life recently to teach me things. With me it represented creativity and how I needed to unleash the creativity that was gifted to me. I believe animals give us messages all the time and I read about their totem qualities when they do. Native Americans understood this deeply. I copied a little about "grandmother Spider" but if you research you can see much more.
To the Native Americans, Spider is Grandmother, the link to the past and future. In India it's associated with Maya, the weaver of illusions.
With its gentle strength, Spider spins together the threads of life with intricate webs.
Spider knows that the past affects the future and vise versa. It calls us to make use of our creativity and weave our dreams into our destiny.

I'd never heard of the relevance of spider dreams, but again is this something that has different relevance to different cultures? To native Americans yes, it has grandmother connotations, but what about to other species who view spiders as a threat, as predatory?

Even the spider has predators. I personally look at everything in nature or even in general as manifestations of different aspects of consciousness. Each showing us
the many characteristics of the very essence of life and God. Each showing us our very essence. The prey and the predators are also aspects of the essence of life and have much to teach us as well.
Only the dreamer really understands the meaning of their dreams but the symbols givien to us have proven to me to be very helpful and universal in their meaning when interpretating the dreams I may have.

I like the web representing how we're connected to others in our lives. I think that's very interesting. I can see how that would relate.
I like that the Native Americans correlate spiders with Grandmother. Grandmothers certainly keep us all connected in my family! I can see how a dream such as that would bring a little peace and comfort to the dreamer.

Yes, spiders have predators, but few things instill as much fear in people as spiders do. It has to be one of the most common of all phobias.

The web interconnectedness is interesting.
