To those who are religious, would the devil try to send me messages through dreams?

I had a dream of nothing but images of a devilish figure in red, appearing in multiple shots at different angles. Accompanied by some very weird music. It was like a one noted industrial sound that seemed to loop. Throughout the dream, the idea that came to my mind (while dreaming) was 'messenger of devil.' I woke up, and couldnt fight those images or the words. I thought I was going crazy..The weird part was that this dream took place about 5-10 minutes before my alarm was set. So I remembered it vividly. Any help or comments would be appreciated.

I personally believe this is possible and it has happened to me as well. Just as much as I believe in God, I believe in His adversary, the devil - along with their respective cohorts, angels and demons. I think there is a constant battle going on in the spiritual realm that we cannot see with our physical eyes - but we can certainly tap into it sometimes, during either our waking or sleeping hours.

Have you ever had moments that creep you out, when you are fully awake, and just feel like something isn't right, or like someone is in the room with you, but you see nobody or nothing? Conversely, how about those times when you feel incredibly peaceful and safe? I think those are times when we are experiencing the supernatural world around us.

On the other hand - if you have recently seen previews for that movie "Hellboy" - there's a good chance it managed to weave itself into your subsconscious mind and manifested as that dream you had!

I believe the devil often tries to speak to us through our dreams. Many times he comes across as an evil being or presense. However, the Bible also describes him as an angel of light, imitating to true Light, Christ. We must weigh all of our dreams against the truth of the scriptures for God also can speak to us through our dreams but He will never contradict his Word.

I believe that the devil does come to us in our dreams, sometimes as an evil force and sometimes as an angel of light. God also can speak to us through our dreams and we must weigh our dreams against the truth of the Bible. Only then can we truly know who the message is from because God will not contradict his Word.

I think that the devil works on us in many ways-in everything that we do basically, from sleeping, to working, to watching tv, to mixing with people. The idea of him working on your dreams is disturbing because you are most vulnerable at that time.

How could you stop it? Prayer before bedtime? Bible under your pillow?

Based on the information out there about the devil he wouldn't be above using any means necessary to corrupt an individual. I don't believe in the devil per se though so I'm not liable to worry about such things in dreams. I think the true evil that tries to effect us is much greater than the mystical devil.

Yes, i do believe that the devil can and does come to people in their dreams, though (luckily) it has never happened to me. As a poster above said, the devil will use any means possible to corrupt a person.

If I may I would like to suggest that you consider that just as much as there is no “separate” God, there is no “separate “Devil”. We live in a world of opposites and of duality and there is a purpose for this. There are no mistakes by design such as an angel gone bad, everything is just as it should be and it’s all good. It is duality that helps us grow, that moves us forward.
We are like waves in the sea of consciousness, we have ups and downs, but as much as we are separate from the ocean, we are the very essence of the ocean.
My point is it’s all good, so try looking at your dream from this viewpoint, try imagining that there is no separate devil. Try considering that this very concept is man-made. The results of which is we humans stop taking blame for our mistakes. Mistakes that are there so that we can learn. I believe the first step to growing or even in interpreting a dream such as this is by removing the misconceptions man has fabricated thruout history. The concept of a separate being, the devil, as oppose to it being an aspect of our very nature is as incorrect as the concept of a place of torment called "hell" as opposed to it being a state of consciousness we can fall into.

Excellent information James. Thank you for sharing. Truly it is so that in our plane of existance which is ruled by duality, there is no forward movement without chaos. Chaos is the resistance by which we create. In the mindset of duality, if there were nothing to overcome, nothing to surpass... then we would have no reason to move from where we are.

James, (or anyone else) are you familiar with the concept of the 'Ring-Pass-Not'?
VERY Simply put it speaks of the laws of creation in the sense that in each Universe there is a limit to which we can attain, simply because everything in a certain environment exists within an enclosed space. An area to which cannot be exceeded until certain criteria are met. I am speaking here of Galactic and Universal laws. But, as always, these are, and there are, microcosms of the macrocosm.

Hi Essence.
Thank you for your respnse and kind words. I looked up Ring-pass-not and after reading it, what goes thru my mind is this is exactly why I say it's all good and we are all right where we need to be to move forward. I know it is talking about the whole but I think it also applies to individuals within the whole.
