Re: Start here! Introduction to Dream Interpretation
Honestly, sometimes I feel like staring in the floor in the Physics class, when science comes into play, with proofs and facts and arguments, and I, all Christian and polite, try not to excuse for the fact that I believe the facts out of a sexist fairytale book. But I do, and in the Bible there's dream interpretation also. What would Freud say about that? Is there any scientific proof that dreams really mean more than our brain's random automatic pilot images during sleep?

Re: Start here! Introduction to Dream Interpretation
Thank you for the shares here. I have been dabbling with dreams for many years now and its almost as tricky as sometimes doing your taxes. I hope to look over some of the above and get a better feel for things. Its hard to research on your own sometimes and there are so many sites online it makes your head spin.
Re: Start here! Introduction to Dream Interpretation
I am no fan of Freud and a skeptic of dream reading. I believe all humans project their failings, feelings and hopes into their dreams and interpretation is just an avenue to square a circle.
Re: Start here! Introduction to Dream Interpretation
I happen to believe that our dreams are, in fact, messages of some fashion. I'm not entirely sure, however, who it is that is "talking" to us or trying to send us these "visual messages". I am also not all that sure that every dream we have is of the same importance. Those that we remember vividly and seem to have a resounding affect on us when we wake are those we should probably be paying attention to. I have this sneaking suspicion that my experiences of deja vu may in some way be linked to the dreams I've had in the past that I may have brushed off as "just a dream" and forgotten. I think I will take some time to research the links above on dreams. It could be quite interesting.
Re: Start here! Introduction to Dream Interpretation
I agree with you, mum. While I have had silly dreams in the past that could not have possibly had any real importance to me, I do feel that sometimes we do have dreams for a reason. With both my children, I dreamed what they would be off and on during the entire length of my pregnancies. When they were born I wasn't surprised that much because I already knew in my heart.
Re: Start here! Introduction to Dream Interpretation
Hi All,
My name is Katie. I am a 32 yr old mother of two and often have quite vivid dreams. I usually remember my dreams and often refer to dream interpretation references to determine what my dreams could mean.
However, i am stuck! The other night i dreamt that i was walking along and i came across this huge old tree with a thick trunk and branches, firmly rooted into the ground and i knew i had found the tree of life. Immediately i awoke without finding out what the purpose was of finding the tree.
Now i am not hugely religious, nor have i ever thought about the tree of life in my conscious mind!
I am just wondering if anyone can help me in interpreting this dream as it was quite short but has not left my mind since...

Re: Start here! Introduction to Dream Interpretation
I had a dream that I can't stop thinking about. I couldn't even get out of bed couldn't move. I felt like I had lived this life by body aches still does three weeks later. I was getting married my face is being protected while my make up is applied my mom says don't let her see her face. Turns out I had been in a car wreck. I don't even know this guy I'm going to marry it is not my boyfriend in real life. Wierd thing his name is Dallas the name of my great grandfather I never knew about. My mother has this little girl who says mommmy doesn't remember me turns out it was my little girl. Some people in the room I knew some where strangers. The man Im about to marry has a lot of money has been taking care of me and planning this beautiful wedding. But I don't know him. It felt so real. Any idea to the meaning of a dream like this.
