I believe the numbers are something like 1 acre of food can feed as many as four acres used for cattle or something like that? Or perhaps it is the methane argument.

That said, I also don't think going vegan is the answer, though I would like to see an end to factory farming as it is just way too much suffering, and there is enough of that in the life of a food animal already.
