Bach Flower Remedies/ Flower Essences - A specific cross between homeopathy and herbal medicine developed by English practitioner Dr. Edward Bach, the thirty-eight Bach Flower remedies derived from English wildflowers serve as catalysts to alleviate the underlying causes of stress. Since then, many practitioners have gone beyond Bach to develop a whole range of Flower Essences from a wide variety of American, European and Australian wildflowers.

Bach flower therapy (Bach flower essence method, Bach flower essence system):

 Homeopathic system of diagnosis and treatment developed in the 1930s by British physician Edward Bach (1886-1936). Bach put forth his philosophy in Heal Thyself: An Explanation of the Real Cause and Cure of Disease, first published in 1931. Therein he described five fundamental truths, in sum:

(1)           Souls, invincible and immortal sparks of the Almighty, are the real, Higher selves of humans.

(2)           Humanity's purpose is to develop virtues and wipe out all intrapersonal wrongs. Souls know what circumstances conduce to the perfection of human nature.

(3)           One's lifetime is a minuscule part of one's evolution.

(4)           When one's Soul and personality are in harmony, one is healthy and happy. The straying of the personality from the dictates of the Soul is the root cause of disease and unhappiness.

(5)           The Creator of all things is Love, and everything of which humans are conscious manifests the Creator.

Bach held that disease was essentially beneficial and that its design was to subject the personality to the Divine will of the Soul. He psychically discovered the specific healing effects of 38 wildflowers. The life force (soul quality or energy wavelength) of each of these flowers is transferable to water and thence to humans. Each of the so-called Bach flower remedies is a liquid that contains a soul quality with an affinity to a human soul quality; and each vegetable soul quality harmonizes its human counterpart with the Soul. The bases of classical diagnosis are conversation and intuition. Administration of the remedies is usually oral but may be external.

Melissai (Greek) Bees; applied to poets and certain priestesses of Delphi, or to Demeter and Artemis, and by the Neoplatonists to any pure and chaste being. Honey is a symbol of wisdom as representing garnered experiences, in the same sense as nectar and similar words; human beings collect and extract the pure essence from the flowers of experience, so that the word was sometimes used in ancient Greece and Rome for disciples.

Antarakasa (Sanskrit) (from antar within, in the middle + akasa space, ether from a-kas to shine, be brilliant)

The akasa of akasa, the essence of akasa; interior or inner aether. The spiritual-divine aether or pradhana which is the seat of the primordial atman, on the cosmic scale or as applicable to an individual entity. "Now what is within the brahmapura (city of brahman) is an abode, a small lotus-flower; within it is a small space (antarakasa). What is within that, should be searched out; that, assuredly, is what one should desire to understand" (ChU 8:1:1).

KALA

In Hinduism, this is the word for Time as the source of all things. In Tantric philosophy, kalas are out-flowings from time (scents, flowers, exudations, emanations, phenomena), particularly referring to the human "kalas" or numerous body fluids and products: blood, semen, milk, sweat, earwax, etc. of which the Tantrists number over thirty (occidental medicine acknowledges no more than 23-24). Apparently, many extra Tantric kalas are produced by prolonged and obscure sexual rituals. One of these is called the sadhakya kala and is the most secret of all -- "the essence where time stands still; where time is not," says Grant. There is also bindhu, a fluid that bisexualizes men and women, obtainable only through Tantric practice; and there is melatonin produced by the pineal gland from serotonin found in the hypothalamus, the blood, dates, bananas, plums and ficus religiosus, or the fig of the Bo-tree of Buddha. Grant used the word in the same sense as above, but also in his own special sense as a synonym for the Tunnels of Set, which he sees as types of "secretions". (See TUNNELS OF SET.)
